Local attractions

Felton Common Nature reserve is the closest attraction being just steps from the camping field. Its 97.8 acres and made up of a mosaic of habitats from acidic and calcareous grassland to scrub and bracken which support a wide variety of plants, invertebrates and birds, its a wild natural space thats popular with walkers, horse-riders and a great place to let your dog or kids run wild!
Nestled just a few miles away from the Mendip Hills you really are spoilt for choice when it comes things to do and see. Whether it be caving or rock climbing in Cheddar to horse riding in the hills, the Mendip's is home to wild horses and goats and is thought to have some of the best cycle tracks in the south west.
Chew Valley & Blagdon lake are both just a 15 minutes drive from the campsite and one of the best places to fish locally for trout.
If your a fan of national trust sites then you will be sure to enjoy Tyntesfiled Estate. With its stone carved Mansion and perfectly manicured formal gardens theres plenty to see and do for the whole family. If your on a budget then the walk around the outside of the estate is free (dogs allowed) and there's even free den building and playgrounds nestled in the woods for the kids.
The city of Bristol is within an 8 mile easy reach, if you didn't want to drive you could catch the airport bus which runs every 10 minutes and can be accessed by foot from the campsite. Here you will find a vast selection of Shops, Bars, restaurants and visitor attractions like Brunel's suspension bridge, SS great Britain and Bristol zoo. The M shed museum and gallery is worth a look too!. Being home to Banksy feast your eyes on some amazing graffiti which colours various buildings and walls around the city.

Wells (14 miles East ) is " England's smallest city". In this Historic market place you can walk the grounds of the 800 year old Cathedral. There's some lovely little boutique shops here and a great Saturday morning food Market.
not far from Wells (45 minutes from campsite ) you will find The City of Bath. The Kennett and Avon canal network is also stunning. You can hire boats on a daily basis from Dundas Aquaduct , have a champagne cruise aboard the uks oldest electric wooden launch ' The Lady Lena ' or have a coffee on board the café boat at Bathampton or perhaps hire a narrowboat and cruise to Bradford on Avon to sample some of the best of the west's Cream teas!
