  • Glamping in 40 acres of a family-run farm in the Wiltshire countryside
  • Westonbirt Arboretum 15 minutes' drive; Bath city centre 40 minutes
  • Gorgeous rural views 15 minutes' walk from Malmesbury town centre
The Weaver family have been living at Wiltshire’s Whychurch Farm since 1899 – and even a quick look at the pics should give you a few clues as to why they’d want to hang around in the same spot for such a long time. What was once a dairy and beef farm has now diversified to house a lovely glamping site, set in the fenced-off top corner of a 40-acre field called The Worthies. Although the farm doesn’t have its own cattle any more, a local farmer grazes his cows on the fields – so you’ll be able to watch them going about their lives while you’re sitting out soaking up the views and fresh air (and you might catch a glimpse of the roe deer that live here too…) The countryside atmosphere is obviously a huge draw for this place – but in fact, so is the proximity of handy town amenities. Despite the thoroughly rural views, it’s only a short 15-minute stroll to Malmesbury town centre for shops, pubs and places to eat. There’s easy access to the M4 from here too, so journeys in and out are straightforward (as are day trips to places like Bath, Westonbirt Arboretum and the Cotswolds). Beds are provided in all the units, but please note you’ll need to bring your own bedding and towels along. Sensor lights are set up all around the site to help you find your way, but it’s a good idea to pack a torch anyway – and you’re welcome to bring a barbecue or firepit too (although you’ll not be able tot use them on windy days because of the fire risk posed by nearby straw and hay barns).

Camping pod

Liked: What a great find! Stayed in a glamping pod and felt like we stayed at a serviced apartment. The POD inside is really well maintained and decorated. With a double bed, floor rugs, a cabinet with tea and cutlery, it was extremely comfortable and convenient. Nice secluded farm with a great view of the fields. Was also extremely close to a local shopping market. Kitchen facilities were great too, with a fridge/freezer and an oven with a hob. A shower and toilets were also available and really hygienic. The host/manager of the farm was extremely friendly. This place is a great place to stay

Camping pod

Liked: Loved this little pod, it was small, cozy and warm on a cold, wet, chilly summer's day and night. Had a kettle, cups, wine glasses, plates & cutlery, and there was a great area for cooking washing up and fridge and freezer space too. Shower was hot. Just don't forget your bedding and camping chairs and your good to go.

Disliked: Nothing only thing I would say is a couple of coat hooks would be useful
