  • Dog-friendly family-run farm site on the edge of the Cotswolds
  • Half an hour’s drive from Cirencester and 55 minutes from Bath
  • River running through; barbecues allowed; pubs and restaurants nearby
With Highland cattle, woodlands, countryside and some streaky sunsets as scenery, Cowage Farm Camping has quite the juicy stay on the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Part of a fourth-generation family-run farm, this site is near the border between Wiltshire and Gloucestershire and a rather peaceful place to prop your feet up. Whether it’s day trips to Cirencester (half an hour’s drive) or Bath (55 minutes), a pitstop tour of the Cotswolds’ many villages or watersports at the Cotswold Water Park (25 minutes), there’s much to do from this site. You’ll also have plenty to do without wandering off the site too, as barbecues are permitted here. There are woodlands you might want to have a look about and a ‘beach’ on the river for a dip. Of course, there are the level-grounded, spacious pitches where you can lounge about without lifting a limb too. Friendly faces on site will be happy to advise you on where to go nearby and one of those spots is Malmesbury, five minutes’ drive away. The village has a museum, pubs, restaurants and café. There’s also a farm shop and deli 10 minutes’ drive in the opposite direction for your barbecue bits.
