What customers say
Peaceful rural site with great views & swimming lake. Friendly owners, farm animals (feeding available), good compost loos & hot showers. Farm shop/cafe are bonuses. Wasps and compost loo comfort noted by some. Limited hot wash-up water, one mentioned loud neighbours/dirty loos, but this was rare.

One of the few camp sites…
Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked One of the few camp sites of recent to feel a lot more like wild camping. I guess that will also be a factor on how many people book, but given how many cool little areas you could plot up, one of the better camp sites I have found recently.

Gorgeous natural site with loads to see and do
Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked Such a beautiful setting, with views for miles over Somerset and Wiltshire. Level pitches, clean compost loos, and warm showers. We loved watching the birds around the lake - swallows, swifts, herons, and ducks, among others. Was great to meet the animals on the farm - we fed the baby goats and fell in love with the little donkeys. In the evening we loved sitting round the communal campfire, and the children enjoyed making friends and playing in the woods and around the field.
Disliked Everything was perfect except the track up to the field was a little gnarly - had to just rev pretty hard to get up it, but it got easier after a few goes!

A really pleasant overnight stay in beautiful Somerset.
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Friendly staff, great to see the animals, my boys loved the goats!
Gorgeous spot for camping at the top of the hill.
Disliked Not so much a dislike but we were hoping to get a toastie or something from the cafe for breakfast but they don't serve food other than a few cakes.

Great pond/lake for swimming and paddle…
Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked Great pond/lake for swimming and paddle boarding, composting toilets which were very clean as were the showers. Loved the animals, they were all really friendly. Small play park for children
Disliked We wee hoping for more variety from the farm shop and cafe
Only downside was the very steep gravelled track leading to the pitches

Beautiful location
Unpowered grass motorhome site
Liked Beautiful location with far reaching views. Quiet, abundence of nature, gorgeous lakes, warm showers, good facilities. Added advantage of beeing able to swim in lake, walk through the extensive woodlands and see all of the farm animals. There is a shop that sells basics and a simple cafe.
Disliked Hill a bit steep to access campsite so we did wheelspin a bit, however this didn't put us off just thought it's good to make people aware.
Shop and cafe where a bit low of stock we were hoping to buy steaks for bbq and have a lunch in cafe but unable on this visit.

Overall was very nice trip, very peaceful and relaxing, and very clean
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Loved the farm, loads of animals, friendly staff, this was our first camping trip, loved the fact that once you got up to the sight you could pitch up anywhere.
Compost toilets are very clean, and well maintained, clear instructions on what to do for those who have never been camping this helped, beautiful views very quiet and peaceful.
Shower blocks very clean and has hot water, fresh water available, and a washing up area as well
Plenty off bins for everything gas cans, chemical waste, general waste.
And loved the fact the dog could walk around the farm with us, and sit in the cafe with us as well.
This would also be great for anyone that has kids as there a park in the farm as well.
Disliked So a couple off dislikes for us
- the road to get up to the campsite is very steep and big rocks and stones going up and loads off pot holes, if your not a confident driver and dont like hill as well as trying to keep traction this drive up isn't for the faint hearted.
we had a SUV and fortunately I had my partner with me or I dont think I would have got the car up to the top.
- Swimming isn't permitted in the lake unless you have a pass, which needs to be purchased at the farm shop. Which was a shame because this was the main reason why we pick this location think this needs to be put in the rules and made clear.
- if you pitch up by the lake like we did be careful as we had wasp, and dragon flys ending up in our tent, would recommend taking a portable bug Zapper this helped a bit.
Make sure you have everything before you go apart from the farm shop there isn't any local shops or towns near by (including enough fuel, nearest petrol station is 10 miles approx away by car) you cant walk to it.

Beautiful site, lovely views, peaceful, felt…
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Beautiful site, lovely views, peaceful, felt really rural. Kids loved all the exploring - we didn’t leave the site for 3 days and everyone was very happy.
Enjoyed the walk down to the farm to see the animals & get an ice cream and supplies like logs.
Good mobile signal also.

Fantastic site, friendly owners, good facilities and great for kids.
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked So peaceful! Beautiful views and well thought out facilities. Stayed for three nights and no need to leave site. The kids loved the little lake pier, tyre swing, feeding the animals, and playing in the park and the cafe was great for an ice cream stop and to grab some milk.
It wasn’t busy which was great for us as plenty of space to run around and not disturb anyone. Would deffo return.
Disliked The drive up the hill was a bit terrifying. Tarmac or smooth concrete would be better!
