Guests return season after season to serene Osmington Mills Corner Campsite in its Dorset coast setting just outside the village of Osmington: it's been family run for over 60 years and has Dorset site stays down pat. Spacious pitches, room for kids to run around, and scenic views towards Weymouth four miles away are the secrets of its success, along with a peaceful rural vibe, restaurants nearby, and the site's closeness to the sea, a mile from the beaches of the Jurassic Coast. You can easily access the region's spectacular walks from here too, as a footpath leads from the site to the coast to connect with the South West Coast Path. (Or if that's a no thanks to the walk, a bus stop is just outside the site with services running to Weymouth.) Osmington has toilets, showers, a washing-up area and the means for ice pack freezing and gadget charging. A shop is next door to the site, and pubs and restaurants are within walking distance.

Liked Relaxed vibe, being able to choose our own pitch, cute little shop, clean facilities well stocked with loo roll and soap. Peaceful site with well behaved campers!!! Great site excellent value for money.
Bus top right outside and a superb location for exploring.
A lovely, lovely site with good organisation and didn't feel overly watched over or policed. Would definitely return to this site. 👍 ⭐

Disliked Definitely got a lot busier on the Friday so not sure how the loos would have fared.
Showers were ok but needed some shelving in stalls.
Maybe a designated dog walking bit, there may have been one but I didn't see it.

Liked Brilliant spot, close to areas that we wanted to visit. Basic campsite but not overcrowded and was clean. Bus stop right on the road which we used and found a great way to get around.

Disliked No hot water for washing up. Showers very low pressure.

Liked What a beautiful little campsite! We visit different campsites every year but I will definitely be returning to here. So perfectly simple, just has everything you need. Clean toilets and showers. Simple washing up area. Cute tuck shop in the evenings. Such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere around the site. Evenings filled with people quietly enjoying the stunning scenery and kite flying. Having the bus stop straight outside made travelling around the area incredibly easy. Short drive to the nearest aldi/lidl. Great value for money. Thank you so much!

Disliked I would really love to have a hook inside the shower. This problem can be solved by tucking everything into a shopping bag but it definitely would have made the process easier!

Liked Near to scenic attractions, easy access, friendly wardens, spacious site, pitch up where you like. Little kiosk with coffee in the morning, kids fun toys and more.
As we had no british cash, they let us pay with euros

Local attractions

Get out onto the South West Coast Path close to the site, try your hand at fishing for Dorset mackerel, canter along the coast on horseback, take a boat out, or up the ante with some kayaking or zorbing… all available nearby. Weymouth, four miles away, has been a famed Dorset seaside spot since Georgian times and these days has stacks to do such as sailing and surfing (several surf schools are around if you're just starting out), a long sandy beach and a Sea Life Centre, miniature railway and RSPB reserve above the town at Lodmoor Country Park. More famed Dorset days can be had with fossil hunting on Chesil Beach, six miles away, and taking in the sight of spectacular Durdle Door at Lulworth Cove, within seven miles of the site. You could also chatter with the inhabitants of Monkey World, see the swans at the award-winning Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, or steam along to the Tank Museum at Bovington, all reachable within 10 miles.
