  • Family-run site a mile from the Jurassic Coast
  • Footpath leading to the South West Coast Path
  • Shop next door and pubs within walking distance
Guests return season after season to serene Osmington Mills Corner Campsite in its Dorset coast setting just outside the village of Osmington: it's been family run for over 60 years and has Dorset site stays down pat. Spacious pitches, room for kids to run around, and scenic views towards Weymouth four miles away are the secrets of its success, along with a peaceful rural vibe, restaurants nearby, and the site's closeness to the sea, a mile from the beaches of the Jurassic Coast. You can easily access the region's spectacular walks from here too, as a footpath leads from the site to the coast to connect with the South West Coast Path. (Or if that's a no thanks to the walk, a bus stop is just outside the site with services running to Weymouth.) Osmington has toilets, showers, a washing-up area and the means for ice pack freezing and gadget charging. A shop is next door to the site, and pubs and restaurants are within walking distance.

What customers say

A friendly, no-frills campsite with great value, ideal for the Jurassic Coast & Weymouth. Guests love pitch choice & the relaxed vibe. Facilities are clean & functional, though a bit dated. Hot water for washing up is a common wish, and it's a bit hilly.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Great location bus route directly outside park back to basics type camping/campervan. The owners are the most helpful knowledgeable and loveliest people you’ll ever meet. The site is basic and clean. That is all you can ask for and standard pitch fee all season is a great touch.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Lovely basic site, so nice to be able to go on a family holiday at a price that is value for money. They are absolutely doing something right at £18 a night as the site was nice and busy. (Not too busy, just right).
Excellent location for the bus. With kids receiving free bus travel in the summer holidays - it made it so much cheaper to go into Weymouth or Durdle Door by not paying extortionate parking prices.
Loved the checkout time of 2pm so that you can leisurely pack up. Also love that you can pick your own spot. We will absolutely be back!! Lovely friendly staff too and nice clean toilets and showers.

Disliked Nothing I particularly disliked, although updated showers and more hooks would definitely benefit the site. But it would definitely not put me off coming back.

Liked Pitches are great,
Owners are lovely and helpful as always
Owners are there all weekend cleaning, tidying, booking people in. Quiet from 10pm, kids kite flying from 6pm

Disliked The scabby people who steal from the toilets, from phones, portable chargers , kids tablet from the week I was there.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for you're comments ,no one had reported any thefts from the toilets to us.The best thing if you lost an item is to let us know immediately.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Very clean, tidy and well looked after site. The owners were really frendly. They had bits and peaces for sale there which was all good value. A tea was only £1 so it wasn't even worth boiling your own kettle. I thought it was a great location with only a short walk to the beach. It looked like there was a bus stop just outside the site which could be very useful. I would definitely recomend it to friends. The site hasn't got a club, bar or pool which somepeople would want, but for a pitch up and camp site it was great.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Simple, easy, and clean. The facilities were dated and simple, which was my expectation after reading reviews. Everything was kept clean and fresh throughout our stay by the owner. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. I would say this is a family friendly campsite which was great for us! Location is fantastic, close to the beaches etc. We would definitely return. Everything you'd expect from a campsite!

Local attractions

Get out onto the South West Coast Path close to the site, try your hand at fishing for Dorset mackerel, canter along the coast on horseback, take a boat out, or up the ante with some kayaking or zorbing… all available nearby. Weymouth, four miles away, has been a famed Dorset seaside spot since Georgian times and these days has stacks to do such as sailing and surfing (several surf schools are around if you're just starting out), a long sandy beach and a Sea Life Centre, miniature railway and RSPB reserve above the town at Lodmoor Country Park. More famed Dorset days can be had with fossil hunting on Chesil Beach, six miles away, and taking in the sight of spectacular Durdle Door at Lulworth Cove, within seven miles of the site. You could also chatter with the inhabitants of Monkey World, see the swans at the award-winning Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, or steam along to the Tank Museum at Bovington, all reachable within 10 miles.
