We open our farm for tent camping for just 4 weeks of the year, starting in mid July. Located in an area known locally as 'Paradise Valley', the site covers several hedged fields in this area of outstanding natural beauty. Accessed by a track down from the main road, the campsite is quiet, secluded and safe for children. The farm runs up to East Hill (the North Down), from where there are amazing panoramic views over Dorset. The site is run along very similar lines to its sister site, Eweleaze Farm. Like at Eweleaze, guests are able to choose their own pitch, so friends and families can camp in groups as they please, and parking by your tent is allowed on most fields. There's loads of room for kids to run around, fly kites, and play ball games. Campfires are allowed, adding to the atmosphere, and firewood is available from the farm shop. Facilities Toilets - every field has toilets Showers - there are free hot showers at several locations around the site Washing up - washing up sinks are available around the site Recycling facilities - these are available around the site - as an 'eco' site we try hard to recycle Pets - pets are welcome Ice pack exchange - this is available in the farm shop Animals - we have tame goats, sheep, dogs, etc. for the children to see and touch Courtesy bus - this runs every day to Weymouth Beach (from 22nd July) Farm Shop In the central area we have a farm shop, which sells almost entirely organic produce including beef and lamb from the farm, pork, eggs, milk, cheese, bread, vegetables, beers, ciders and wines, as well as firewood, gas, bbqs, charcoal and other essentials. This year we have our own organic bakery producing a range of breads, cakes and pastries. Also in the central area we also sell: Organic stone-baked pizzas Chips, pies and pasties Breakfast rolls Salads Filled rolls Toasted sandwiches Ice creams Herbal teas

Local attractions

Beaches There are a number of good beaches in the area. Eweleaze Farm - this is 2.5km from the site. Note there is no parking available at Eweleaze. The beach is a quiet, shingly cove running out to a rocky headland. Ringstead Bay - this bay is 6km from Northdown, along a toll road, £5 including parking for the day. Bowleaze Cove - popular with windsurfers, this beach is 3.5km from the site. Free on-road parking. Weymouth - this is a long sandy beach with a typical English seaside theme. It does get busy in season. For others try www.dorsetbeaches.co.uk Area and Activities The South West Coast path runs approx 2km to the south of the site, with walks to Osmington Mills, Ringstead, Durdle Door and Lulworth to the east and Weymouth to the west. Beyond Weymouth, across the bay, is the Isle of Portland, the venue for the 2012 sailing Olympics. Weymouth is 5km and has a sandy beach, a harbour and very good nightlife. Dorchester, with its museums, market and other attractions, is about 10km. There are loads of attractions in the surrounding area. This coastline forms part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, so fossil hunting is one more activity for the kids (and adults!). Shops, Pubs and Cafes The nearest shops are the Spar and Co-op located 1km down the road in Preston. In Weymouth itself there is a large range of shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Dorchester is less hectic in the summer, and has more upmarket shops for crafts, gifts and antiques. We have a number of good pubs within walking distance of the site. Of note is the Springhead which is a short walk from the back of the site, and the Spice Ship on the main road, also within walking distance.
