Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Kept nice and clean Good facilities Pleasant atmosphere Friendly owners/staff Steam trains running past Good looking surroundings Great food truck and local goods van Hay bales provided lots of fun for the kids Nice quiet site even though it was a bank holiday with lots of people staying Lots to do in the beautiful surrounding areas Would love to come back again!

Disliked: I’d rather pay more to stay than have to feed the meter for a shower (but it wasn’t that bad- just a very minor point) Later check out time would be nice- we booked an extra night so that we wouldn’t need to rush

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Very helpful, explaining the best pitch places and consciences of everyone following the rules so everyone had a good experience. good facilities

Disliked: Only one toilet block. one further up the site could be handy. but it wasn't too far to walk and we chose to pitch in the position we did so not their fault.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Good facilities and food vans on site. Lots of drinking water points. Staff were polite and often someone present at reception which stocks lots of essentials.

Disliked: The timers on the showers begin as soon as 20ps are put in, this means quite a few are needed. Some shower heads were spraying everywhere, but manageable.

Local attractions

You’ll feel like you’ve stumbled into a scene from a storybook at Harman’s Cross station (10 minutes’ walk). Pick a picnic bench, gaze at the old-school platforms and Portland stone period buildings and watch as the trains roll by. More history hangs heavy in the air at Corfe Castle (five minutes’ drive). The Jurassic Coast is where you’ll find most of the action… head down early to beat the crowds to Durdle Door (30 minutes) and its neighbour Lulworth Cove. It's hard to beat a shoreline that has silky sand, iconic landmarks and paddle-worthy waters all in one. Tick your way along the coast, beginning with a dip in the shallow pool at Dancing Ledge (5 minutes), and then on to Winspit Quarry (15 minutes) and the clifftop Durlston Country Park and National Nature Reserve (15 minutes)… or pick between watersports or a sandcastle face-off on the beaches of Sandbanks (40 minutes) and Studland (10 minutes).
