Jurassic Double Decker Bus 3 bedroom cabin

From £124.20 (£124.20) 1 night, 2 adults

6 people maximum 3 bedrooms

Unique experience to stay in converted double decker bus near Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove which has been lovingly transformed from a school bus to provide comfortable accommodation for 4 adults and 2 children or less adults and more children. This Volvo 1996 bus has been transformed but has kept many of the original features. The bus is situated at the top of an old drove offering wonderful views over the open countryside. Guests have direct access to bridleways and footpaths from Wynards Farm. Ideal for walkers and mountain bikers. Located close to Durdle Door, Lulworth cove, the world famous Tank Museum and Monkey World Going west is Weymouth and Abbotsbury, east is Corfe Castle and Swanage, inland to quaint villages The space Our double decker bus has been converted to self catering accommodation. On the top deck there is a sitting area with views over the field and countryside beyond, bedroom with kingsize bed, children's bedroom with two bunk beds and shower room with hot and cold water. Downstairs is open plan with a kitchen, dining and sitting area with wood burning stove and flat screen TV. The kitchen area has a 4 ring hob, sink with hot and cold water, microwave and fridge. Cupboards with crockery, utensils and cooking equipment, Ground floor bedroom, with kingsize bed, has 2 accesses through kitchen/lounge or outside steps through original rear emergency door. The drivers area is still original, great fun to sit in and pretend!! Other things to note I have decided not to increase prices this year, instead charging for logs. This keeps the price down for guests not using many or any logs. The logs are different for the woodburning stove, barbeque and seperate firepit. The charge is £5.00 per type of log per bag/bucket. These can be ordered in advance or during your stay (cash payment only) A folder is provided for guests with many suggestions of places to eat and things to do. PLEASE BE AWARE THERE IS NO WIFI CONNECTION TO THE BUS. Dogs are welcome and there is a charge per dog per night. Outside are table and bench beside firepit for warmth and Weber charcoal bbq for cooking under the stars.

Shepherd's hut

Liked: The very well equipped Shepherd's Hut was set in a large meadow which is shared with just a Yurt and a Double-Decker Bus set-up for a family camping, so it was very peaceful. The setting was delightfully rural. Judith, our hostess, was friendly, helpful and unobtrusive.

Disliked: We had nothing to complain about!

Jurassic Double Decker Bus 3 bedroom cabin

Liked: This was a wonderful location, the bus is well equipped with good space for a family of 4/5. The views from the bus are beautiful. My daughter (9) loved the Alpacas and Horses. The bus felt private and quiet.

Disliked: Nothing, my only thought to enhance the bus was to add some decking round the front and some comfty sitting for evenings cooking and chilling

Shepherd's hut

Liked: Everything about our stay! The views were amazing, Judith couldn't have been more helpful and the shepherd's hut was perfect. We had everything we could have possibly needed and our stay way exceeded expectations. The alpacas, shetlands and horses added to the experience and the smell of hay making in the surrounding fields was a bonus! Highly recommend this lovely location and property.

Shepherd's hut

Liked: My 15 year old niece and I stayed for the weekend in the Shepherds Hut and what a fabulous stay we had, relaxing beautiful set up, we loved the sunset spot fire pit and close facilities for us to go Paddle Boarding at Durdle Door for the weekend. Clean comfortable hot shower that was powerful and great to be with nature

Disliked: A few big spiders in the hut which didn't bother me but my niece wasn't a fan

Local attractions

If it’s classic Dorset scenery you’re after, this is the place for you – there are plenty of walks to be had nearby, along with trips to places like Thomas Hardy’s Dorchester and the Saxon walls of Wareham (both 15 minutes’ drive). Dorset’s seaside views are famously spectacular too, of course, so it’s worth spending some time down at the Jurassic Coast. The famed huge stone arch of Durdle Door is about 10 minutes’ drive away, as are the lovely beach of Lulworth Cove, strolls on the South West Coast Path and various watersports to try out. Meanwhile, Weymouth’s sandy beach is about 20 minutes away. Something a little bit different for your day out? How about The Tank Museum (15 minutes) or the entertaining antics of the residents of Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre (10 minutes)?
