  • Family-owned site in the small village of Parley Green, Dorset
  • A 15-minute drive from Christchurch and Bournemouth town centres
  • Riverside location by the Stour; fishing available with a license
Parley Court Camping is a family-run site in Dorset that’s 15 minutes' drive from two stunning seaside towns. Whether you're after strolls around the priory and boating trips in Christchurch or fancy the sandy beaches, pier and bright lights of Bournemouth, staying at Parley Court Camping means you can get there in a matter of minutes. The site is also an easy quarter of an hour's drive from the western edge of the New Forest National Park. This relaxed site is small in scale and has a fairly back-to-basics approach to camping, but toilet and shower facilities are available. It's also possible to fish on site from the riverbank (contact Ringwood & District Anglers Association in advance for a licence). Set on the edge of Parley Green, this site is about a mile and a half from Hurn, where there is a post office and access to the gorgeous Sopley Common nature reserve. For everything else, head to either Christchurch or Bournemouth, where there are plenty of supermarkets, restaurants, independent shops and big brand stores. The site is also a short distance from Bournemouth Airport and a mile from an aviation museum, where you can sit in the cockpit of vintage planes.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Able to choose own pitch, all areas fairly flat and plenty of options. Good location for access to beaches. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Planes as mentioned on their site not really an issue at all and Grandchildren loved seeing them go over.

Disliked I was aware of a 'humming' (?) perhaps generator that runs all night. My son (in his thirties) was not aware of it at all so likely most people would be fine with it. Not anything to do with the campsite itself so no blame whatsoever on them.

Bell tent (deluxe)

Liked We had a great stay at Parley Court this weekend. We are a family of 2 adults, 2 children and stayed in the deluxe bell tent. It was a lovely tent - airbeds and bedding all made up. It was very cute. Everyone was so friendly, it was so nice to see the children mixing with each other, playing and sharing their footballs, swing ball etc.

It was a clean site, plenty of bins available. There was an equestrian centre next door and you could get fairly close to the horses in the next field. Parking was good and it was a very short walk to the tents with wheelbarrows provided to help carry luggage.

The pressure and heat of the showers were good. Plenty of toilet roll, hand wash and spray available. Shops were close by and it was about 20 mins drive to Bournemouth pier.

The owners were really friendly and we would definitely come back.

Disliked The showers were a little untidy but that's to be expected on a campsite when people are sharing facilities. Most of the time people were respectful of shared facilities. I would advise flip flops in the shower area and it was a bit difficult to change as the cubicle is small and due to the condensation, it is not ideal to put your clothes down on the bench or hang against the wall (I put Joggers on after drying and went back to the tent to get dressed).
