Perhaps you’ve got a bus enthusiast in your travelling party, or maybe you’re just on the lookout for something a bit different for your Devon glamping break. Either way, The Bus on the Hill makes a wonderful spot for a truly memorable break. As you’ll no doubt already have guessed, the accommodation here is in a converted double-decker bus that’s been parked in a hilltop location that gives it wide-ranging views over gorgeous Devon countryside. It’s a hugely peaceful spot where the only sounds you’re likely to hear are the birds singing in the trees and the local farmers going about their business in the distance. Everything you need for a relaxing rural break has been provided at this thoughtfully designed solar-powered conversion – the bus now houses two smart and cosy bedrooms, a kitchen area (including a mini fridge and vintage cooker) and an ensuite bathroom. A woodburning stove is provided to keep you warm on cooler days, and bed linen and towels are also supplied to keep your packing list short. Outside, you’ll have your own private seating area with a barbecue for some scenic outdoor cooking. If it’s a cooler evening you may prefer to cosy up inside and watch TV. Either way, you can pick up snacks and other supplies at the shops in Tiverton, 15 minutes’ drive away. Despite the remote rural atmosphere of this place, it should be pretty easy to get to as it’s only 20 minutes’ drive from the M5.
