Liked: Very well-presented site with attractive brick buildings and lots of flowers and greenery. Showers nice and hot, lots of room in the cubicles (probably the best ones I've come across) toilets and facilities spotlessly clean. I stayed on a gravel hard stand pitch and had stunning views across the farm and beyond. There are lots of food options available from onsite restaurant on certain days and when that is closed there are various food vans visiting the site for those who wish to use. I used the onsite minibus to Torquay one day, very handy and cheap as well. ( I think more people should use it). Great site would definitely go back.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike at all

From the manager: What a lovely review and we're so glad to hear you've enjoyed your stay with us and our facilities. The flowers this year are doing really well, looking good and are helping to support all the little bees and insects. Don't be away too long and happy travels in the meantime.

Liked: Warm reception to the campsite and given details of what’s on food and entertainment wise. The pitch was on a terrace and so the view was lovely and the facilities were a very short walk away. Always clean and tidy. Poppies restaurant is reasonably priced and served good food. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment, such a laugh. Prices in the well stocked bar were reasonable. Definitely a campsite to try out and for us to visit again.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Friendly welcome on arrival and easy to pitch up. Great views. Clean and hot showers always a bonus! Bar and restaurant available to make the holiday more relaxing. All staff helpful and chatty.

Disliked: No dislikes just a heads up that the water taps near the standard pitches don't fit any hose adaptors. Fill up at the motorhome station just past the bar..

From the manager: Hello Jackie, Thanks for taking the time to write your review. Hands up, we made a slight slip up when booking you in and should have directed you straight to the Motorhome service point prior to siting. Apologies for that. However, glad to read that you've enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again later this season perhaps.

Local attractions

This is Agatha Christie country, so if you’re looking to solve the mystery of what to do during your hols, you're sorted here too. Make your way into Torquay a 15-minute drive away for the Agatha Christie Mile – a walking tour of spots that inspired the author – and Kents Cavern, a prehistoric cave that served as Hampsley Cavern in her novel The Man in the Brown Suit. For a glimpse of Christie’s personal life, Greenway House at Brixham is where she spent summer and Christmas hols. If Greenway House whet your appetite for stately homes, zip along to Compton Castle (five minutes) for house and garden tours, or Cockington Country Park (10 minutes) for strolls around the extensive grounds and a glimpse of Cockington Court (now a craft centre). Not enough? Venture further afield for Coleton Fishacre, Buckfast Abbey and the 16-sided A la Ronde, all within 35 minutes. There are plenty of museums, steam trains and model villages nearby to keep history buffs entertained, but those who prefer more of a living and breathing experience should pad over to Paignton Zoo (within 15 minutes) instead.
