Excellent!
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Really liked it - well maintained, lovely hosts, beautiful spot and a really worthwhile project to support. Very dog friendly and a beautiful spot to let loose the other side of the tunnel.
Disliked To be viable as a long term campsite the facilities would probably need to be more extensive but they were no problem and very well cared for.

Awesome
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked We loved the relaxed atmosphere of this site. Turn up at any time, choose your pitch.
showers and toilets were fine. The grounds are well kept with re-wilding fields included in the 100acres which you are free to explore.
Lots of wildlife around. We heard night jarrs and also found glow worms in the long grass! Which was very exciting for us!
It was around half hour drive to Paignton and Dawlish Warren beaches which we visited, there are also lots of other beaches and days out nearby. Along with shops, restaurants and pubs.
We paid £38 for 2 nights as a family of 4 which is amazing.
Disliked The only thing about the turn up at any time rule was that we were woken up at 7 by people setting up their tent and their dog barking at another dog. So maybe if there could be a rule to turn up from 8am-9pm? Otherwise this rule is great. You can turn up, set up and get out to a beach or other day out, instead of not being able to set up camp before 2pm like a lot of other sites.
My husband spoke to the grounds keeper about accessibility into the toilet block, it was discussed that there is a way through the club house which is accessible so I believe a sign may be going up on the door to make this clearer - which is amazing.

Liked Everything! Amazing friendly owners, clean and tidy, huge pitch options. Facilities were cleaned frequently, washing up and drinking water accessible. Added bonus of fresh coffee and pastries available every morning. And close access to the rover to keep the kids busy.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Excellent couple of nights in a great pop up site. Jazz and Ali perfect hosts that also open up for coffee and cake 7-10:30. Pub within 15min walk although closes in the afternoon. Showers lovely, very clean powerful and hot with washing up facilities just outside. We also had the added luxury of electric bikes which made getting around easy. Shame we’re busy all of August as would have loved to come back. Fingers crossed for next year

Simple but brilliant!!
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Everything!! This is a real hidden gem of a place. We live locally and just wanted somewhere to go for a couple of nights closer to the Dartmoor attractions. A friend recommended this after I had seen it on Pitch up.
It's quiet and peaceful, the caretakers are friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, they have even set up coffee and pastries for breakfast which is great (accepting card and cash) , who doesn't like a croissant fresh from the oven for breakfast.
It is a pop up campsite so don't expect luxury but due to it previously being a golf club and clubhouse it is far better than your average pop up. The toilets and showers are basic but functional and always clean and supplied (and if they aren't the caretakers are soon on it to fix it as they live onsite). They are based just opposite the end of the camping field so be aware when you are picking your pitch that the further you drive in the further you are away from the toilets. There is also a wash up facility.
The walk across the old golf course is fab alongside the river. It's serene and beautiful.
The location for Canonteign falls, Dartmoor reservoirs and Bovey Tracey is excellent, all within 15 minutes drive, access is very good, pitches are slightly sloped.
I really hope they can continue this or come back next summer as we will definitely be back. Thank you for doing this and making it affordable.
What would I suggest - Use the lockers for power charging, a freezer and fridge if possible and maybe a pop up bar similar to breakfast just selling cans of drink. Maybe a Saturday food van or BBQ.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Loads of space to choose from. Really chilled and friendly vibe. Walks around the golf course to the river under a bridge. You can also walk to the pub or a bridle way to the other side of the river from the site. Pub serves excellent food. Idea to book before you walk if you want to eat as very popular.
Coffee and pastries served from behind the club house in the mornings.
Alistair and Jas who are running the pop up were super friendly and helpful.
Disliked Nothing to dislike but just be aware the facilities are accessed through an unfinished extension to the side of the club house. Once inside they are great so please don’t be put off!
