Drift back to the 1970s with a stay in a real-live time capsule – a 1978 American Dodge Travco 320 updated with lots of modern flourishes but still retaining its distinctive 1970s design. And not only that – surfers listen up now – it sits on a clifftop with awesome Atlantic views on the north coast of Cornwall, within half an hour’s drive of the UK’s most famous surfing beaches. The Travco easily sleeps four in comfort, and you can add a small child into the mix by top-and-tailing in the single beds. Rustle up supper in the kitchenette with hob, oven and fridge, and then chill listening to tunes on the DVD player or watch your favourite TV film in the surprisingly roomy living area. Hot and cold running water are both on hand, and you can keep cosy and toasty on chilly nights thanks to the air-blown heater. A charcoal barbecue, table and chairs are all yours for alfresco entertaining, as you’re sure to want to spend some time outdoors, taking in those ocean views and catching the colourful Cornish sunsets.
