The Touring Park was opened in July 1981 by Stan & Betty Marshall. Stan was known as Cornwall's Tallest Magician, hence the name MAGIC COVE. In 2003 management of the site passed to Lesley (Stan & Betty's Daughter). Following Stan's sudden death in 2007 the site is now owned and managed by Lesley with her husband Brian. Magic Cove is situated in Mawgan Porth, being mid-way between Newquay and Padstow on the North Cornish Coast, offering a central base if you wish to make trips to anywhere in Cornwall. On the other hand, if you prefer to stay put, you will only be a 300 yard level walk from the beach, which offers safe bathing and surfing under lifeguard supervision, rock pools and fine sand for just lazing around! Mobile phone signal at the site is virtually non-existent, therefore Magic Cove would not be the place for you if you can't be without your phone!! Although we do offer FREE WI-FI to all of our customers. Magic Cove is a small friendly site with 18 pitches, all of which provide electric hook-up. The site is level with a tarmac surface leading to grass pitches and is situated 40 yards back from the road in a sheltered position, making it secluded and safe for children. The toilet block is kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Hot and Cold water is provided for all basins/sinks and the tiled shower cubicles operate on 20 pence meters. Water standpipes and drains for disposing of washing water etc are adjacent to each pitch. A central point for disposal of chemical toilet contents is a maximum of 50 yards from any pitch. We have a Launderette (2 washers & 1 dryer) with washing up facilities (2 sinks), a payphone and Information. An iron and ironing board is also available for free use. All pitches include a Digital Television Point which provides a selection of 45 channels. We have a library of books to borrow or swap - this is a free service. Ice Packs Frozen free of charge. We are open from Easter to the end of September. Booking is essential during peak periods. We do not take any new bookings for the next season until the end of the current season. Due to a large number of repeat bookings, availability is likely to be very limited. Dogs are allowed on the beach and we also have our own private dog walk area adjoining the Site. Our family have been resident in Mawgan Porth for over 50 years and will be happy to give any information you require, all you have to do is ask. On many occasions it has been said that Magic Cove has been the friendliest site people have visited. If you're looking for a Magical Holiday then why not stay at Magic Cove, no tricks, just the Magic of Cornwall.
