What customers say

Silver Sands Holiday Park is a peaceful spot with tidy grounds and big pitches, often with hedges. Staff are friendly and helpful, facilities (showers, loos) are clean and well-kept, and the vibe is chilled. Lovely woodland walk to the beach. Some found the single-track road and a few older facilities a bit dated, but still clean and working fine. Great for a relaxing break.

Fully-serviced grass and gravel caravan site

Liked This visit was our third this year, we loved it the first time in May, booked for middle of July, then again end of august.
We received the same warm welcome on this visit as we did on our first. The location and peaceful atmosphere is amazing. It is the kind of place that attracts a really nice friendly group of people.
It’s fantastic for the children who come with their families, there’s a play park, sand pit, and area for tots.
Because the site is not a massive busy site, there is only need for one facilities block, it has a laundrette, wash up area with a fridge freezer for guest use. A family bathroom, and then the ladies and gents shower and toilets. Around the back of the facilities is the cassette emptying point. They are not brand new, but are kept very clean, the water pressure is fab in the showers, the toilets flush very efficiently.
We love the location to the dog friendly beach, it’s just about 10 miles s walk downhill through a wooded area to the beach.
There are all the supermarkets available in Helston, which is about a 20 minute Drive, there’s also restaurants, take aways, pubs there. Or just a short walk over the fields takes you to kuggar that has potters bar, a cafe, Thai takeaway I think is Thursday/Friday and Saturday from 5pm.
All in all, we love the site.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked The pitch was spot on, flat, sheltered from the wind and right next to an electric point. The pitch was in a really dark area so at night the stars were on full display and you could hear the sea. The site wasn’t rammed full of tents so it was really nice. We had bats out above the tent in the evening, a very friendly Robbin in the hedge that knew when breakfast would be and cows in the next field. The kids play area is really quite good and there are freezers in the washing block for your cold blocks.

Disliked The toilet block is quite tired and small for the size of the site and it’s a 20 min drive to the Supermarket in Helston if you run out of supplies. The walk to the beach is down a very worn and uneven path with a long drag back up a steep rocky hill if you have any mobility issues. The Wi-Fi on site kept dropping out which drove the kids up the wall.

Summer Field powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked Everything, location is amazing. Walk to the local beach beautiful but also the walks and nature reserves are well worth visiting.
Site was well maintained, facilities clean and showers hot and pressure was great at quieter times. Park was amazing for the kids we feel safe to let ours play from a distant and had no issues with cars etc. We stayed on the summer field which is also a dog friendly field and loved it beautiful sunsets. Protected from the wind and lovely to sit out in the peaceful surroundings. Staff were very friendly and hopeful there was always someone around which was nice to see.

Disliked Nothing.

Liked Large EHU pitches, with privacy hedges between. Excellent play areas for v young and teens, good free WiFi, quiet time from 9.30pm so easy to sleep with no rowdy groups, very family friendly and only an easy 10 minute walk to the gorgeous Kennack Sands beach through the woods.

Disliked Amount of spiders in the toilets 🤣

Toilet block with showers

Firpit hire

Owner/manager Allan is great and makes regular trips around the site engaging with all the guests

Would definitely recommend to anyone

Disliked Nothing to dislike apart from being asked to turn music off on the first night due to someone complaining we was playing music (not even loud) at 9:45 but that was the only downside to our 6 night stay here.

Liked Everything about this location was managed at the highest level. Silver Sands Holiday Park is very quiet and pleasant, with meticulously kept grounds and thoughtfully organized spaces. The staff was consistently friendly and welcoming. One of the highlights is the relaxing walk to the lovely beach through a beautiful forest park. This is truly a place where all your problems seem to fade away.

Local attractions

Aside from the beach within walking distance at Kennack Sands, Silver Sands Holiday Park is also close to one of the most stunning beach locations in Cornwall: Kynance Cove, whose turquoise waters could have been lifted from a postcard from the Med. Water babies can make the most of the milder sea temperatures (thanks to the Gulf Stream) and try diving, surfing or windsurfing at any one of the tuition centres along the local coast. Porthkerris beach has a family-run dive centre that is particularly renowned for its shore dives, and boat dives to local wrecks or to swim with basking sharks; it also has a comprehensive range of PADI scuba instruction. Walking enthusiasts can fill their boots with rambles along the stunning coastline to the Lizard point and beyond, or head inland, where a favourite expedition is along the banks of the Helford river, followed by a short hop on the ferry to the eponymous Ferry Boat Inn, for some well-earned refreshment overlooking the water. There’s all kind of fishy business nearby for those angling for a bit of action: freshwater fishing at Garras, beach fishing or sea-fishing trips from one of the local ports. Check out the iconic St Michael’s Mount or one of the other National Trust properties in the vicinity; garden groupies are spoilt for choice too, with many glorious green spots in the area including Glendurgan, Trevarno and Trebah Gardens, particularly spectacular in the earlier part of the year, when wild bluebells and primroses spring into bloom and there are breathtaking displays of camellias and azaleas. The area around Silver Sands is stuffed with fab family attractions for all ages too, from the doe-eyed beauties at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek to the swashbuckling fun of Falmouth’s National Maritime Museum, the Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary or the engineered thrills of The Flambards Experience theme park.
