What customers say
A wee, tidy spot with stunning views and a chill vibe. Generous, level pitches. Spotless, modern loos with hot showers get heaps of praise. The owner's a top bloke! Showers can be a bit hit-and-miss with temp/time, and you might hear planes. Roads are narrow.

One of my favourite campsites, but now with an early wake up call.
Unpowered grass site
Liked I visited here in 2023 with my partner and absolutely loved it so decided to return here in 2026 despite it not being one of the more expensive places to camp in the area.
The site is quiet with beautiful views. It is small and never seems to be overly busy. All the pictures are well maintained and perfectly flat and level. The very thoughtful edition of the freezer unit along with the solar charging station is very useful, but very uncommon elsewhere and a fantastic idea. The showers and toilets are high-quality, clean and always well stocked. They are far above the facilities of most campsites, in fact I might go as far as to say they are the best ones I have seen. The water pressure is very good. The two sinks for washing up are also very good especially because they have hot water. This really is a beautiful size where they have thought of everything.
Disliked As I think I mentioned in a previous review, the showers are still sub-optimal because they are push button operated so you cannot choose the temperature. The water flowing starts the boiler which means when the flow stops after maybe 10 seconds at best, the boiler cut out and has to start again so your shower essentially goes between tepid and coldish continuously. You desperately need some flow rate adjusters so people can choose the temperature and also if you want push buttons to set them so that they last for a lot longer. It’s not unusually bad, but it definitely doesn’t make for a nice experience.
Unfortunately the real downside is that one of the fields next door now has a gas powered bird scarer in it so at about 5:45 am, the delicate sound of shotguns will start up outside your tent going roughly twice every 30 minutes and will not stop again until some point later that evening. This would be quite unwelcome any day but is especially annoying on a Sunday when I thought I might try and get a little bit of a lie in. I appreciate the need to keep the birds away from crops and I appreciate that it might not even be your field but it really does make for quite a bad sleeping experience.
Hopefully, later in this season, they won’t need to use this and then peace will return. Certainly early in July I would probably not choose to stay here again which is a real shame because I love this campsite, but if I can’t sleep, there’s not much point in being there.

Nothing more than a place to pitch for the night.
Unpowered grass site
Liked The site was level and well marked out. The facilities were clean and modern, providing the necessities for camping.
Disliked No sign of the owner, and little in the way of signage approaching the site. Luckily the neighbour was very helpful.
Obviously I was unlucky, as this has to be the least quiet site I have stayed at. I appreciate it is an agricultural area, but the bird scarers in the adjacent field went off at regular (at least hourly) intervals, and the network of tape strung across the crop set up a constant and irritating howling and whining. In the end I had to close my roof in order to get some sleep.
NB the site is a fenced off corner of an arable field, and several hundred metres from the farm.

Beautiful, immaculate small site. Very quiet…

Liked Beautiful, immaculate small site. Very quiet with views across towards RNAS Culdrose. 2 showers, 2 toilets, all unisex, in a shepherds hut, and a couple of outside dishwashing sinks. Loved it so much we booked another night. Approaching from Gweek was the preferred option. Very hot water in the dishwashing sinks and wash basins, showers have a lovely large spray head, but constantly variable water temperatures come out which averaged out as a warm but not hot shower.
Disliked Nothing that would put us booking again.

Lovely site, handy location
Unpowered grass site
Liked Lovely location- handy for Gweek, Helston and south into the Lizard.
Beautiful site, really well-kept. Lovely facilities, very clean.
Quiet overnight- distance airbase no problem.
Disliked Shower block is beautiful- lots of hot water for sinks and washing up but…
The showers are lovely but the temperature isn’t controllable and varies wildly and randomly from deliciously warm to almost freezing, and back again over one short push button cycle. Not the best if it’s chilly outside!

A real gem of a site
Unpowered grass site
Liked Lovely, friendly, knowledgeable owner. Flat spacious pitches with spectacular views. Fabulous new shower block, huge showers with plenty of hot water. Very peaceful location.
Disliked Not a dislike but advice on approaching the site. If you are in a motorhome or towing it’s best to approach from A394 near Sainsburys Helston onto Gays Hill road, turn right by Suez recycling and recovery plant, turn left on Chapel Hill and the site is on the left. Ignore Garmin as the Gweek Lane approach is very narrow in places with short passing places as is the turning off A394 by A1 cars of Cornwall. It’s worth it as this site is fabulous once you get there.
