What customers say

A well-kept, peaceful spot with spotless facilities, friendly hosts, and a lovely rural setting. Good pitches, often with water/electric. Popular cafe. Great Cornwall base. Wi-Fi patchy, showers inconsistent.

Liked Where to start, there are so many good things to say about the campsite. First of all, Steve and Jeanette are so welcoming, accomodating and lovely people. We didn't have the correct adaptor for the electric hook up and they kindly lent us one for our stay. They messaged us before we arrived to make sure we found the place (as the satnav takes you the wrong way), and once we arrived explained where everything was and how to use them. We also got a sheet that explained the very few rules of the camp site which were not unreasonable. The campsite itself is very well maintained, Steve and Jeanette are always out working to keep the place lovely. There was a problem with the shower temperature, however this was resolved by the next morning. We only visited for 3 nights as a trial with our dog who has never been camping but wish we had stayed longer. We will be visiting again in the near future.

Disliked Nothing at all.

From the manager: Don’t understand what you have written. We do understand when you were here you spoke perfect English & was all smiles, chatty & complementary. You left early saying you wanted to visit more places on the way back to the ferry. Your husband shook hands with Steve & said you’ll be back again. You must have 2 personalities lady, as I assume you wrote the review. There’s a saying you can’t please everyone!

Liked The owners were absolutely lovely. Very welcoming. Site was very peaceful and well-maintained. Small play area which our daughter loved. Clean toilet and shower facilities.

Disliked No dislikes. Would have been lovely if there had been a small shop on-site but so close to loads of shops and takeaways/eating places in Camborne that this is not really a problem.

Liked Steve and Jeanette were fantastic hosts. Showed us everything we needed to know. We had their contact details in case we needed anything.
The showers and toilets were exceptionally clean. They were checked them regularly.
My daughter and her friend loved the playground.
There is a cafe on site but on the week we were there, it was only open Friday to Sunday. We only had a coffee from there but it was very good.
Quite central to all the beaches. The closest beach was probably about a 15 minute drive.
We liked it so much, we’ve already booked for next August.

Disliked Not really a dislike but the phone signal wasn’t great on our pitch but you could get a better signal up by the playground.

Liked The owners of the campsite were lovely, they were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us and feel more welcome during our stay. They recommended some lovely places to visit and even drew us a map/ wrote us directions! They took such pride in the site and the grounds were all lovely and so well maintained!
Facilities are good and there are small touches such as a freezer which we were able to use for ice lollies on a hot day! We stayed on the site with family (with young children) and there was a lovely park for them to play on.
The site was in a great location (good distance to local shops, pubs etc and local to lovely landmarks in Cornwall). The site was secure, quiet and just perfect for our stay! Will definitely be visiting again.

Local attractions

Cornwall, as you may have heard, has a rather fine collection of beaches… the nearest to Bluebell Campsite being the lengthy stretch of sand around Hayle (10 minutes’ drive) and the three-mile expanse of sand and shingle at Porthleven beach (15 minutes). Pick your times carefully if you’re off to St Michael’s Mount (20 minutes) – walks can only be had at low tide and boat rides only at high tide. Seals are fond of this area too, and you can set off to see them on boat trips from St Ives (25 minutes) or be guaranteed viewings at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary (25 minutes). Folk who like to delve into local history (or see some of the locations from the popular telly series) should head below ground at Poldark Mine & The Cornish Heritage Collection (15 minutes).
