What customers say
Great value wild camping, with spacious, well-kept grounds. Hosts Rachel and Jamie are friendly, the spot's beautiful and peaceful, with a nice lake. Basic but clean facilities – showers can be cold, loo locks iffy. Short drive to beach and attractions. Lots of keen to return!

Liked Everything.
Lovely flat, quiet field with adjoining lake field beside.
Chemical loos in a shed which were spotless and washing sinks for dishes and handwashing etc.
Cold water only here, but they are looking to add hot shower facilities soon.
Owners were around the site but not obtrusive - friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Perfect wild campsite experience with the benefit of loos and sinks.
Great location - tucked away but good access to beach and shop nearby.
This is the place to come to escape the noise of life. I sat in the lake field and watched dragonflies and butterflies, with the waterlilies in bloom - beautiful. Sadly this review won't let me upload my pictures...
EE full signal here, no WiFi, but good to turn it all off.
Plenty of room to not be on top of other campers. Felt safe for a solo traveller, but would be good for a group of friends too - anyone who wants a good value, clean, no frills campsite.
Disliked Nothing - I hope to be back soon

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Rachel and Jamie were very welcoming. It was super windy overnight when we visited and Jamie and Rachel popped to check on the field regularly. Nothing was too much trouble.
Wonderful spot, with plenty of space to pitch where you like.
Short walk to the lake where you can take a picnic or have a BBQ. Basic toilets and washing up sink but just how we like it. Proper wild camping. We will definitely be back !
Amenities close by, with a lovely beach down the road.
Thank you!

Liked The place is a beautiful retreat. The field is well-maintained and there is a fantastic picnic spot near the lake, a short walk from the main campsite, where there is a picnic table and place for a barbecue. The facilities are very basic – with chemical loos – but we enjoyed the simplicity and calmness of the location. Rachel and Jamie are very welcoming and the menagerie of animals – goats, sheep, dogs, cats etc. were very friendly too!
Disliked The locks on the loo could do with looking at, as they do not close correctly.

Lovely site, lovely hosts 😊
Unpowered grass tent site (two person)
Liked Lovely site. Level, easy pitching. Beautiful lake area. Friendly, relaxed hosts. Basic amenities, but nice and clean. 5 min drive from stunning beach. Easy to get to Widemouth Bay and Bude too. Not max marks for amenities, but it's advertised as wild camping, so it's actually v good for that. Wi-fi reception patchy on pitches, but fine 100m up, by the entrance.
