  • Spacious yurts at a 300-acre farm in the north Cornwall countryside
  • A 20-minute drive to either Bodmin Moor walks or north coast beaches
  • Private bathroom and kitchen for each yurt; dogs welcome
Time for some peace and quiet in the Cornwall countryside? You should find plenty of that at Luxury Cornish Yurts – this site is part of a family-run farm that has around 300 acres of land to its name, so you can be sure that you’re well away from busy urban areas. Most of the well-looked-after land here is given over to the beef and arable farming operations, but there’s also lots of space for guests to relax, breathe in the fresh air, admire the sunsets and get some good stargazing in thanks to the dark skies. This is a proper rural location, but it’s not all that remote, as the village of St Tudy is about a mile away, with a good pub and a village shop stocked with essentials and locally sourced food. The village also has a bus service that should make it easy to get out to nearby towns like Camelford, Bodmin and Wadebridge, or other places of interest. You’ll be well placed for exploring north Cornwall here, with lots of great walks around Bodmin Moor in one direction and along the South West Coast Path in the other. The farm is on a public footpath, so it's handy for walkers in need of a quick stop. It’s also not far from the Camel Trail for cyclists, and you can hire bikes in Wadebridge. Accommodation here is in yurts sleeping up to five people, with bed linen provided (just note you’ll need to bring towels). Each yurt has its own allocated shower room and kitchen area (with cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster) in the main hub building and you’ll also have access to a barbecue and picnic table for outdoor dining. Inside the yurt, a woodburning stove keeps everything nicely cosy so you don’t have to worry about chilly nights. Whole-site bookings are welcome, whether you're a hen party or families and friends getting together.

Liked This was a fantastic place for a few nights stop over. The space was great - private wet room was fantastic and the kitchen facilities were great. We had our own fridge space and the communal area was perfect. The yurt itself is a great size, comfy, clean and overall lovely. The children loved spending time with Bailey the beautiful dog :)

Liked What can I say, decided to have a staycation because our dog had had major surgery and didn’t want to leave her behind, came on pitchup as we have had some lovely stays through them previously , and again they didn’t disappoint. We arrived at our yurt later than anticipated due to very heavy traffic but this was not a problem for Cathrine, on arrival we found the host to be extremely bubbly, we were promptly shown the facilities and our yurt which would be home for the weekend.
The yurt ….. the yurt was beautiful with a king size comfortable double bed, and quality bedding. 2 bedside tables with solar powered lamps , a chest of draws ottoman with extra blankets and an open hanging space for clothing plus to chairs which converted to single beds, fairy lights for extra ambiance was also provided. There was also a log burner which was out of use due to the current hot weather, for fire safety reasons (to be expected ). Which we would not of used any was as the yurt was more than warm enough. The place was spotlessly clean .

Kitchen facilities ……. Each yurt has its own kitchen space with a fridge kettle sink and cupboard space. A lovely touch was they provided tea, coffee milk sugar and biscuits for your arrival and a most beautiful piece of cake which went down a treat . There is a freeze with a draw for each yurt and a shared cooker toaster air fryer and microwave, these guys have thought about everything , there was nothing I needed that you couldn’t find including salt and pepper , washing up liquid tea towel cloth for wiping down kitchen role a hairdryer !!! And I football game which came in handy whilst waiting for the food to cook. A massive table and chairs sits within the heart of the kitchen. and again the place was spotless .

Bathroom facilities….. each yurt is provided with its own wet room comprising of a rainforest shower and toilet , you’re given a key so you can lock it when not in use if you wish but we just left ours unlocked, there is a lock on the inside for when you’re inside so didn’t feel the need to have to lock it whilst not in use but think it’s a great idea if you have kids with you. Again these were spotless .

Outside space …… there is a large field shared by all 3 yurts and more than ample space between you so not to encroach on each others privacy, a picnic bench is sat outside each yurt with a couple of benches in the field and a couple of relaxing chairs which you could move if you wanted them. Again there are usually fire pits and barbecues but because of the dry spell the decision was made to not allow these during our stay. Bailey is the farm dog whom I was a little scared of at first but who is the softest most loveable dog who is more than happy to chase his ball as long as you’re willing to throw it and who will make himself comfortable in your yurt which I’m sure he thinks he owns lol. He was equally as friendly with our nervous cockapoo and they became friends pretty quickly.

Over all….. Malcome and Cathrine have really put some thought into this business and have 100% nailed it. I don’t think there is anything more they could have done to make our stay any better, they were welcoming friendly and helpful from booking until leaving and we have already recommended them to friends and family. We wish them every success for the future because they truly deserve it .

Liked We stayed here a few weeks ago for a one night stopover before travelling onto our next location. We had the most wonderful stay and would recommend a stay here.

From the outset we experienced great communication from the hosts and felt very welcome during our stay. The yurt and separate kitchen/bathroom spaces were very clean, with individual modern spaces allocated to each yurt- nice to note the bathrooms and the yurt are also lockable, thus only accessible to the individuals booked to use them.

We were welcomed with cake and fresh milk for a brew, which is a lovely bonus after a long journey! Likewise, we had all the basics we should need for our stay such as body wash, washing up liquid, towels etc, and even a torch for the darker hours.

We found the yurt itself to be very cosy with a comfortable bed and extra blankets provided if needed. The hosts have also provided a few different areas to sit both inside the yurt and outside. We especially enjoyed sitting outside with a cup of tea and watching the local wildlife around the yurt.

Furthermore, we found the space to be incredibly peaceful and a tranquil place to escape to. We wished we could have had more time here and would definitely come back if we were staying in the area again.

Liked Beautiful spot to have a break for a night! A lovely big field with space between the three yurts and cupboards, kettle, fridge, and sink for each one in the communal kitchen and dining area - with a cooker and microwave for all to use. A big dining table and table football too, which my daughter loved! Each yurt has its own lockable shower room with toilet and sink. There were lovely extras such as cutlery, bowls and plates, and Catherine had even made us a delicious cake each for our arrival. The yurt itself had a very comfortable bed and plenty of storage space, it was clean and spacious. Thank you for a wonderful stay :-)

Local attractions

This is a strategic location for a north Cornwall break, as it’s well placed for both countryside and coast. Heading north, you’ll get to the coast with a drive of 20 minutes, for the fishing village of Port Isaac, the South West Coast Path or Tintagel Castle (25 minutes’ drive). Of course there are lots of gorgeous beaches along the north Cornwall coast too – a couple of local favourites are Trebarwith (20 minutes) and the surf hotspot of Polzeath (25 minutes). Meanwhile, a good way to mix up both country views and coast time is to bike along the traffic-free Camel Trail from Bodmin or Wadebridge to Padstow. Heading inland, you can visit Bodmin Moor to climb Brown Willy (20 minutes) or spend some time exploring country estates like Pencarrow House & Garden (10 minutes) and Lanhydrock (20 minutes). For family days, try the Bodmin Jail Attraction (15 minutes) or Camel Creek Family Adventure Park (25 minutes).
