  • Large, family-friendly touring park on Seal Bay Resort
  • A 10-minute walk to the sea and a 20-minute drive from Chichester
  • Includes access to facilities at nearby parks (shuttle bus provided)
Here's a cracking Sussex spot – with 11 acres of flat grassy grounds to its name, Warner Farm Touring Park is located on the southern tip of Selsey Bill. Both the centre of village of Selsey and the Solent coast are under a mile away, and a host of top-notch leisure activities are available nearby. The friendly folk who run this place have teamed up with neighbouring sites so that guests have free access to a wide range of facilities (bars, restaurants, kids' clubs, pools and a gym are all on the cards). Whether you're looking to get a sweat on, indulge in a soak or simply sunbathe by the pool, a handy shuttle bus is provided free of charge to chauffeur you around. (Please note, though, that your motorhome/campervan will need to stay in place at Warner Farm, and not be driven between the parks.) In addition to these perks, RSPB Medmerry Nature Reserve is located right next door, making it even easier to relax and unwind: make tracks here for marshland walks, cycle trails and spectacular seaside views. Facilities-wise, there's no need to venture far for the essentials: showers, toilets (including family washrooms and baby changing), charging points and a laundry room are all provided on site. Furry friends are welcome at Warner Farm Touring Park, as are barbecues. Pubs and a nifty local food shop are a 10-minute walk away.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Nice and calm campsite with good facilities, toilets and showers. Good access to all of the pools and entertainment on the other sites, my girls had great fun!

Disliked: A little noisy as we were placed near the entrance, but we still slept really well!

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Facilities on site, proximity to beach, reasonable pricing for an electric pitch and inclusive of free access to pools.

Disliked: Pitches are way too close together. Stayed on Warner farm, unfortunately we had unsavoury neighbours and in general it was a very noisy/s site. Cars driving around at all hours close to tents, driving fast, shouting, talking, honking horns, literally till 2/3a.m. Antisocial behaviour going unregulated. Saw no security at night, evident from prolonged disturbance on both nights. Yes, I know I could've called security, but guests shouldn't have to, and why couldn't the company monitor noise levels etc and set up basic respectful rules?. I asked for a pitch away from road and wc, and was given a pitch right next to the road and bins. There should be a no noise policy, vehicles should not be allowed to drive in/out of camping area at night. As a parent, I have to say I was on edge both nights, and slept very little. Its a shame the management don't properly regulate massive groups, noise etc, as what happens is these people then completely taint everyone else's camping experience. Not relaxing at all. Simply could be improved by keeping groups of young folks, or much larger groups, away from families, couples etc. Designate a "quiet" area. It's a real shame as it will put a lot of people off, as just seems like management don't really care. If they did, they wouldn't have come up with thd excuse "all pitches are full" to not move me, despite knowing where they were placing me with two young kids, only for many pitches on site remaining vacant. Come on guys, we're all allowed to have fun but it shouldn't be at the expense of other (ideally)

Powered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Clean toilet facilities

Disliked: - Limited opening times: Everything closes at 5. Shop, pool, attractions. Unless you are between the ages of 3 and 8, that's a bit inconvenient to say the least. Parents want a quick swim when the kids sleep? No chance. Dinner at a restaurant? Forget it. Want to hand in your freezer blocks to reception to freeze in the evening? Nope. - Staff are rude - They claim to be a family park, but 'no ball playing anywhere'. From my pitch I could see 8(!) signs. Very passive-aggressive signage. I also saw a ball confiscated by a member of staff. - No waste separation. Around the main sanitary building there were 14 (!) waste containers that said 'general waste only, no recyclables'. But i could not find any recycling station at all. - Super exposed pitches, no privacy and extremely windy, due to the location. Instead of investing in hedges to make it more comfortable, they maximized space for profit.

Local attractions

Fancy a day at the races? The Goodwood Estate (25 minutes' drive) plays host to heaps of horsey action alongside regular motor racing festivals and concerts. If you feel like having a go in the saddle yourself, the stables in nearby West Wittering (25 minutes) are well-placed for beachfront canters. History buffs will find much to keep them busy around these parts: the cathedral city of Chichester is 20 minutes away, as is Fishbourne Roman Palace, the largest Roman villa excavated in Britain. For further regal residences, head to Arundel (half an hour) and the town's stunning castle and gardens. For naval history, the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth (35 minutes) should be just the ticket. Portsmouth is also home to more contemporary attractions: Gunwharf Quays shopping outlet is a fab spot to bag designer labels at a discount price, while the Spinnaker Tower's lofty viewing platform has spectacular vistas over the harbour, the sea and the nearby Isle of Wight. Worthing (50 minutes) is another coastal spot that's well worth the trip: energetic visitors might fancy hiking up the country's largest hill fort at Cissbury Ring, while genteel types may prefer a leisurely stroll along the pier.
