Camping in Kent is always a good idea – what with lots of scenic walking and historic houses to visit – but it’s an even better idea when your site is in the grounds of a historic country pub known for its fresh local food and Kentish ales. If that sounds like something you could enjoy, then 16th-century The Woolpack Inn in the forested Weald of Kent is the place for you. The grass pitches are set in two acres of rural Kent countryside on the outskirts of the village of Yalding, which sits prettily on the banks of the River Beult. Practical facilities at the site include use of the pub toilets, an emptying point and drinking water, as well as electric car charging and USB points. Food at The Woolpack offers a taste of the good life, with many of the delicious and hearty dishes served there created with locally sourced produce. There’s a collection of pub classics on the menu, plus a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options – and on Sundays, of course, there’s the all-important traditional roast. Takeaway options are available too.

Liked Lovely campsite, lots of space, quiet. We ate at the pub where they were friendly and welcoming. The service and the food were both excellent. We will stay here again

Liked Just everything about the site the area and the people David, Renata and the rest of the crew, the pub served great ales and the food was spot on. the local people and other campers were friendly. Its a great location to explore Kent and the lanes in the countryside A bonus was the birds and morning chorus and a rabbit or two
The details on Pitchup are spot on and yes facilities are a bit limited but all we needed

We are already planning a return trip.

Liked We booked this very last minute and the staff were so friendly and helpful when we arrived. The pitch was lovely, so peaceful and beautiful with all the wildlife. We ate in the pub, the food was lovely and service was brilliant. Will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Liked Everything. Idyllic setting belonging to the Woolpack Inn, with well-prepared pitches. A lot of attention to detail to make everything very welcoming and friendly, including the staff. Also excellent pub food and beers. Only one hour from Dover. Will definitely be booking it again for our return trip to the continent. Can’t recommend it highly enough 👍👍🤩
