  • Peaceful Kent campsite in an area of outstanding natural beauty
  • A 10-minute drive from the coast; 20 minutes from Port Lympne Reserve
  • Firepits available; in a peaceful village location
Pet-friendly pitches within a 10-minute drive of the south coast? You’ll be sorted at Paddlesworth Court Farm, a spacious and green site set in the gorgeous Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. When it comes to classic camp activities, Paddlesworth Court Farm scores full marks – campfires and barbecues are allowed at this laidback site, and firepits are available to borrow if you haven't brought your own (subject to availability; it's advisable to bring your own just in case). Basic amenities like toilets are available too, as is water and a waste disposal point. The farm is in the small village of Paddlesworth, which is roughly a mile and a half from Hawkinge's pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. The larger coastal town of Folkestone (10 minutes) is within easy reach too if you fancy an afternoon stroll along the seafront or want to explore the local area by train. This site is in a recognised dark sky area, so you're likely to be treated to some impressive cosmic displays. As well as being an excellent destination in its own right, Paddlesworth Court Farm is a very convenient stop-off point for cross-Channel trips and is 15 minutes' drive from the Eurotunnel passenger check-in terminal or 20 minutes from Dover. Good local dog-walking and kennels are available on site.

What customers say

Great spot with spacious pitches, lovely dark sky location near a pub. Some feedback mentioned debris, upkeep issues, shower shortages, overbooking, and festival noise.

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site (six person)

Liked Didn't get the opportunity to like anything. There was no pitch for me when I arrived with three kids in the van. I'm only writing this because the computer insisted. Wouldn't have mentioned it if this section was optional.

Disliked No where to pitch a tent because the whole place had been booked out for a "pirate festval," obviously a miscommunication between pitchup and the site. Can't comment on the site because it was dark when I arrived. Perhaps pitchup should do more to confirm bookings with site management? Or site management should check pitchup more often. I would like to get my deposit back, but still haven't heard from either of them.

From the manager: Hi Pitchup, i am naturally disappointed regarding this revue. However i do not believe it to be at all typical of the site. Some days ago I believe that some one had been either extremely ill, or a section of the toilet block had been sabotaged. In my 12 years of running the site i have never seen a mess like it.If a camper wandered into the situation they would have every right to complain. It was cleared up by me as soon as I was aware of the disaster the following morning, but I do not know how many people saw the mess. There was an alternative toilet available, in a separate location. The toilets are monitored at least once a day, and although they are fairly basic they are functional and include hand washing facilities. I am going to ask Pitchup to remove this revue from our page, I believe this to have been a one off unfortunate event, hopefully it will never be repeated. This is basic no frills site, I try to provide a simple facility in a good location at a fair price, it is enjoyed by many customers who like what we offer and who visit repeatedly. Unfortunately when dealing withe public, unforseen events occur, and it is impossible to monitor these 24/7, we do however rectify these as soon as they become apparent. I trust you will accept this explanation and modify our revues accordingly. Thanks |John R.

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site (six person)

Liked Great location set in a dark sky area which made for great night time viewing, relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a nice little pub which was a stones throw from the site. Despite torrential downpours the site remained well drained and firm underfoot, pitches were large with electric hook up costing £6 per night but only certain pitches.

Disliked Lack of showers but was made aware of this when booking, dogs (I believe belonging to the site owner) seemed to be allowed to roam unchecked and raided our neighbours food wrappers from a BBQ the night before which were in a rubbish bag outside of their tent, said dogs mess was left and not picked up so not great when children are playing on the same areas.
