Set in the scenic hamlet of Pett Bottom just 10 minutes' drive away from the historic city of Canterbury, Sunnyside Farm Camping is a peaceful rural retreat on a working mixed farm. It has a friendly flock of 100 sheep, a few laidback cattle and birdsong to act as your morning alarm. Come in late April through to May to see the woodlands carpeted in bluebells. At all times of the year, it's also a great base to get out into the sloping Kent countryside before unwinding with a pint and a nice, big meal at the characterful pub-restaurant next door. The 50-mile Coast to Cathedral route across the Kent Downs between Canterbury and Dover passes right by the site. And if you prefer cantering to strolls or cycling? Pay a call to the riding centre in the village, and trek the chalk hills on horseback. Just 25 minutes' drive away from the Dover ferry port and 35 minutes from the Eurotunnel Folkestone, the site is also a convenient overnight stop before you make your Channel crossing. There is a convenient set-up on site, with clean, basic and bright shared washrooms housed in a wooden farm building.

Quiet rural spot for a peaceful break. Friendly owners, clean facilities (hot shower!), good 4G. Great for exploring Canterbury. Field slopes a bit, basic facilities (one shower/toilet) could be tight when busy.

Liked Back to basics good old camping loved it😎
Only one toilet, shower/washroom. But being a very small site. it was more than adequate. And it was clean and well maintained. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the area very scenic( well it would be as in the garden of England)
Take it easy on the approaching roads. Very narrow and often occupied by farm machinery and lorry's along with the odd car or 2.

Liked La pleine campagne mais ville assez proche, environ 3 kms.

Disliked Les sanitaires, sales, pas pratiques.
Un wc, un lavabo, une douche pour tous😱

From the manager: We are small advertising only 4 pitches and we have 2 toilets !! It is checked and cleaned throughout the day I am sorry but you must of followed a fellow camper who made a mess.why not report it to us (we don't bite ) rather than gives us an necessary low mark

Liked It was a small campsite but very quiet and nice.

Disliked Facilities were ok but shower was clogged. Aside from that, it was a lovely stay.

Disliked Only one shower and dish washing basin for whole site so might become busy if site full.

Liked Stayed here whilst Bikepacking.
Easy to find and nice quiet location with a nearby pub. The family welcomed me and showed me around on arrival.
Good shower and toilet block a short walk from the camping area. A convenient pot wash with drinking water and a Portaloo in the camping area.

Liked Simple and sweet spot. Lovely area. Lots of forest walks. Sweet pub. Nice clean single washroom with great shower and a bath mat. Field is sloped so you might need some leveling. Very friendly and kind farmer and friends.

When you’ve walked, cycled and hacked across Kent, there’s only one option left: make for Canterbury (15 minutes’ drive) and punt or canoe your way down the Stour, stopping off for wanders of the Roman walls and guided Chaucer-themed town walks, to finish up in the cathedral. For more adventures in the ancient, the trio of Deal, Walmer and Dover Castles are all half an hour’s drive away and full of sights from times gone by, including a Roman lighthouse, secret World War II tunnels and the Duke of Wellington’s seaside pad. History with a side serving of bells and whistles can be had with a steam ride on the restored Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway (40 minutes). Half an hour away, the Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve serves up cliffs and saltmarshes, with seal colonies offshore in winter and summer cuckoos and nightingales turning the place into a sound garden. Or visit Britain’s only desert: Dungeness National Nature Reserve (50 minutes) is a landscape loved by waders and migratory birds, made extra picworthy by the looming power station. For more contained encounters with wildlife, try Wingham Wildlife Park, a large collection of small creatures with exotic names such as tamanduas and cloud rats, while bigger beasts including Kent’s only giant anteaters stalk the plains at Howlett’s Zoo; both are half an hour away.
