Folk looking for a place to flop before or after a foray to France may well find Little Lynton Acres a most handy location – it’s less than half an hour’s drive from the ferries at Dover and Folkestone, and 20 minutes or so from Ashford’s international train station linking passengers up with European cities like Paris, Brussels, Marseille, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. It’s recommended that you don’t try to move on too quickly from this spacious, peaceful site in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, however, for there’s plenty to keep you busy nearby, including country walks, trips to the coast and days out in Canterbury (20 minutes’ drive away). Those seeking a spot to stroll can, in fact, wander straight out into the woodland just next to the site, and there’s also plenty of space around the place for kids and dogs that need a place to run about in the open air. This site is also a mile from the villages of Stowting and Stelling (and, perhaps more importantly, their pubs). Facilities at this simple park include toilets, showers, drinking water and a chemical disposal point.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Nice small/medium site with some lovely nature, birds etc to be seen and heard. Peaceful with a little background traffic noise way off in the distance and a little buzzing from the power line but neither bothered me. Great facilities with lots of nice personal touches. Really liked the board of suggestions and things to do locally. Facilities were clean and well kept. Nicely organised and well managed.

Liked Quiet little site 20 mins away from eurotunnel and perfect for a stopover for an early eurotunnel crossing.

Liked Schöner weitläufiger Platz in der Natur. Nächster Ort mit Pup ist nicht weit, gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Waren schon mehrfach für einen Kurzurlaub dort.

Disliked Leider gibt es nur noch eine Stelle zur Müllentsorgung. Die sanitären Anlagen sind auch schon in die Jahre gekommen und nicht mehr zeitgemäß. In den Duschen fehlen immer noch geeignete Ablagen.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked A five star site in every aspect. Great rural location but only a few minutes from the Channel Tunnel. Fantastic play area for kids. Good amenities and very helpful owners who are always on hand.

Craving the coast? Head to the long, pebble shores of Hythe (15 minutes' drive), an especially scenic place on a sunny day, for a bit of beach time.
