What customers say
Stunning views, roomy sites, and good facilities (hot showers, cooking areas). Friendly staff, secure and peaceful – great for families. Pods and central hub are "cool". Handy for local spots. Some noted toilet cleanliness, patchy kids' activities, unreliable pod solar, and occasional camper noise.

Lovely site, great location, most staff friendly but no activities.
Camping pod
Liked Location was great, easy to get to and find. There was lots to do around the site. The pods were cute and the kids loved the field space. Which was helped because there were not too many tents.
Disliked The pictures showed all the activities that were avaliable but we couldn't use any of them which was a disappointment. The playground in the pics were not. If it had not been for the lack of tents I'm not sure the kids were have enjoyed it as much.
The rules around the unloading and loading area were not enforced, so cars had parked in this area and along the sides making this process hard work and even got blocked in when unloading and had to find owners to move cars so we could take the car back to right space.
The shower area was cleaned at lunchtime only, which meant the bins were overflowing by the next morning. We were unlucky in one sense as once the showers had been cleaned the large group staying came back from their swim and the showers were covered in sand and stayed that way. Made it unpleasant.

Camping pod
Liked The space is lovely, fields and woods to explore, plenty of room for children to play. Showers lovely and hot. Brilliant set up for cooking lots of tables and benches. Great access to nearby places to visit. Quiet at night... Spot on.
Disliked Our pods double bed was super creaky! Every time you moved it made so much noise... Potentially just unlucky as don't remember it being like this last time.

Basic, set-up for school camps..disappointing, will not return.
Camping pod
Liked Cool pods and central area near pods.
Site is secure.
Electricity in pods run on solar.
Toilets nearby..but no running water in them.
Disliked Toilets and showers are not cleaned on a regular basis, no loo roll, water on shower floors from multiple teenagers.
Difficult to access showers, need to use codes...bins are not emptied regularly.
No playing equipment for younger children, unless you book activities, which did not seem to be running.
Bunk house to close to pods, was very noisy, not peaceful.
There is supposed to be quiet time, but not adhered too / enforced by anyone.
Pod village, cool idea but no privacy.
Stretchers in pods more comfortable then the bed.
No cafe for essentials, only a vending machine with sweets and fizzy drinks.
Only staff we saw onsite the whole weekend was a receptionist and reception was closed on departure.
Biggest disappointment for us is that you cannot access the new forest directly from the site a d the site does not feel "forestry", just fields and a few trees / unkept scrub.
Could be so so much better, but it's mostly set-up for school camps / activities, all very practical and basic.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay. We appreciate your insights and are sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet expectations.
We’re pleased to know that you enjoyed the pod village concept, the central communal area, our solar-powered setup, and the overall site security. These are features we’re proud of, and it’s great to hear they added value to your stay.
However, we’re equally concerned about the issues you raised. Cleanliness, accessibility, and comfort are top priorities for us, and we regret that this didn’t meet the standards we aim to uphold. Your concerns have been noted, and we will be reviewing these areas more closely moving forward.
We’re also sorry to hear about your concerns regarding limited staff presence and noise disturbances. We operate an on-call system and encourage guests to contact the duty manager directly if any issues arise, including noise or breaches of site rules.
Regarding the lack of play equipment, you are correct that we do not have a designated play area. This is not listed among our site features. However, we do offer instructor-led activities, which were available and bookable during your visit.
As for your comments about the site's connection to the New Forest, we were surprised by your disappointment. The site is located in Brockenhurst, which is in the heart of the New Forest, and offers access to a variety of beautiful walks and natural surroundings. Many Duke of Edinburgh groups choose our site for this very reason.
Please know that your feedback has been shared with our management team and will use this to look at ways to improve our overall guest experience.

Clean facilities, friendly staff, not good for poor weather really
Camping pod
Liked As always we loved the scenery and layout of the pods etc
Toilets right there and also showers and main toilets a 30 second walk if that
Disliked Sadly on this occasion we left a day early :( the rain really ruined the experience for us which isn’t the venues fault
But we also had issues with the bunkhouse having a big party booked in (I don’t think the venue realised it was going to be this) we was in a pod closest to the bunkhouse and outside they decided to play their music and speakers and also had a karaoke machine, it was roughly 9:30 so not in the quiet time but for being stuck inside the pod due to weather for days and then having to listen to that ruined it for us. We were offered to move pod to the other side but being disabled and late, wet conditions etc it just wasn’t worth the more stress it was for us so we just went home. We aren’t sure when we will book again as we felt like we wasted over £200 on an awful stay sadly :(

Will be returning, wish didn’t close to soon in the year
Camping pod
Liked Our second trip here, which we extended easily from 2 nights to 4 with the help of the reception team
We came for Halloween and they put carved pumpkins out the pod which was nice, next year we think they should leave them uncarved so we can do that for a bit of fun. Can hire a fire pit from them but we bring our own no issues.
Can hire gas bbq too which we are going to do next time.
Disliked Pods only have usb power and are solar powered. On a cloudy day you get no charge to the pods to use the usb outlets, and if you do it’s for less then an hour HOWEVER they provide free hire for main charging in lockers you keep key for so again no issue for us but others may find the usb power a hassle
Take your own lights as the lights are also run from the solar too which we have never gotten more then 30 mins light from but again it’s not a problem as we took our own lights second time around
The closer disabled pod toilets are Great! but having no light inside at all meant I had to leave those I left back at the pod in the dark or I’d have to use the toilet the dark which isn’t ideal otherwise they are fab!!
Would be great to have an on site shop in the lil cabin next to the fridge area, just got basic things etc and to keep the wood dry they sell with the pits as we found it too damp to use on first visit
The activities aren’t on enough we’ve never been able to experience them
WIFI Does not reach pod village sadly

From the manager: Thanks for your review, some very useful feedback for us at the centre.
We have just started the installation of mains power to the pods which will ensure the lights and power charging will not be affected by any lack of solar charging. We will also address the lighting to the new waterless toilets installed for more convenient overnight toilet facilities.
We look forward to seeing you and the family again in the future.

Camping pod
Liked We absolutely loved this campsite! We stayed in one of their pods with our 7 and 9 year olds.
The activities were fantastic, and the children had some much fun getting to know other families. It has such a lovely community feel.
We would recommend, and would definitely return!

Nice place with lots to do if willing to travel.
Camping pod
Liked The setting, the space, could easily travel to explore
Disliked How close the pods were to each other, could hear the people next outside after 11pm
The pod bed wasn’t comfortable at all, would bring an air mattress next time
That the children’s activities weren’t on over the 3 days we stayed
Would camp next time
