  • Lively Hampshire family farm site with easy access from M3 and A303
  • A 20-minute drive to Winchester and Watercress Line railway
  • Café, farm shop and brewery taproom with weekend food trucks
Fancy a farm stay, but not so keen on the idea of a long drive along country lanes? Get yourselves along to Dummer Down Farm, in a handy Hampshire location that’s easily accessed from the M3 and A303 (thereby also making it a good place to consider for a stopover on a longer journey…) There’s a real buzz about this lively place, which is just outside the pretty village of Dummer and within 20 minutes’ drive of Winchester and Basingstoke. It’s not just a campsite at this family farm – there’s also a farm shop, a café (with a terrace looking out over the fields) and a brewery, where you can finish your day off with a pint of fresh local beer in the taproom next door or pick up something to eat from one of the local food trucks that park here at weekends. If you’d rather do the self-catering thing, stop by at the market garden to see what sort of fresh organic veg they’ve got for sale that day. A convenience store is about a mile and a half away for any other bits you need to go with your dinner. Working up an appetite for these meals and drinks should be easy, as there’s some great walking and cycling to be done directly from the farm as well as plenty of places to have a day out (including wanders around Winchester, animal encounters at Marwell Zoo and grownup trips to see wine and gin in production). Facilities in the field include toilets, a washing-up area, drinking water taps and a chemical disposal point. Dogs are welcome to join you for a stay here.

What customers say

A straightforward, roomy campsite in a field, noted for its peace and welcoming hosts. A great cafe, shop, and brewery with live music and food trucks add to the good atmosphere. Toilets are clean but dated, with no showers (though upgrades are coming). Some event noise mentioned.

Liked Another fabulous weekend at Dummer Down Farm. Thank you to Mary and Andrew for accommodating us all. The new toilets were a real treat and a wonderful addition for this year.
