Liked: The farm and Animals were lovely to see and the pitch anywhere was nice. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Disliked: Shower and toilet facilities were unclean and dated.

From the manager: Thanks for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us. We are pleased that you enjoyed yourselves. £25 per night has remained our pitch fee for the 3rd year running and really is great value, as it includes entry for up to 6 people (usual entry price would be £36) to the whole farm, all animal encounters and there really is so much going on! However, once again we are round to the same negative comments about the toilet blocks, which we feel to be hugely unfair and are very sad to hear. We are not sure of people’s expectations of a working farm and off grid wild campsite but our listing here on pitch up states that there is a solely a chemical toilet (portaloo). We have hugely improved this by adding 2 flushing toilets to the camping area and a gas hot water shower. We have no plans to change these again as to do so would mean planning applications and expensive alterations, which would have to be reflected in the cost of your stay. Muddy floors do not equal dirty toilets! You do not traipse in and out of your own bathroom at home with muddy wellies on, or sit children on the toilet with muddy swinging little feet and take a shower in your outside shoes. We are in the great outdoors and it’s never going to look like the Ritz I’m afraid! The toilets are regularly checked and cleaned and we never find them in a state that we would consider to be unacceptable. If it had of been then a simple chat with a staff member would have ensured that any problems were resolved quickly. Kind Regards The Daisy May’s Team

Liked: The setting was brilliant, we felt like we were on a farm which was great for the young children staying with us. The animals were adorable! Plenty of places for children to explore. The staff were friendly and helpful. The camping areas were ideal, we had enough space and views of the woods and surrounding fields. There were hand washing stations dotted around. Very reasonable priced!
Disliked: The toilet/ shower block is very simple and not that clean. It’s best to take your own toilet paper with you and perhaps some antibacterial wipes. You can hear the planes but it’s not too disruptive.

From the manager: Thanks for your 8/10 review. We are pleased to hear that you had a nice time and that you would stay again and bring your friends! We wont dwell too much on the dislikes as unfortunately we don’t have any plans to change the toilet blocks, as they are newly added. We cannot stop people removing whole toilet rolls back to their tents on occasion (even though we restock them twice each day) or showing in muddy crocs but heyho this is camping in the great outdoors! Kind Regards The Daisy May’s Team

Liked: Daisy’s farm is a very relaxed and peaceful site. Having the animals around was a nice bonus. The pitch is basic but perfect. There are water points everywhere and the toilets were in a decent state. The farmers are very friendly and helpful as well. I really enjoyed my time at the farm and will definitely visit again.

Liked: Being a working farm with roaming animals - sheep, ducks. Petting zoo area - bottle fed kids, held chicks, rabbits. Saw a lamb being born and sheep being sheared. Park area.
Disliked: Advertised as being able to collect eggs and to milk a goat - these wasn’t available. No washing up facilities.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. As you have explained there really is a lot going on at the farm at this time of the year. Day visitors and campers alike all get the chance to hold chicks/ducklings, cuddle kids and bottle fed lambs currently. Unfortunately there just us not time in the day to schedule in egg collecting and goat milking at the moment, as we have live births and shearing going on, which are far more enthralling during the spring months. I’m not sure that equates to false advertising, as I’m sure it can be appreciated that everything on the farm is seasonal and subject to change daily. In response to the comment on washing up facilities. We no longer provide these and do not advertise as such. Campers previously have left a lot of mess and we were constantly getting reports of blocked sinks. We therefore took the decision to remove the sink altogether, as our staff only have so much time to be clearing up after others. Kind Regards The Daisy May’s Team

Liked: I almost didn't book to camp here after reading some of the reviews. I was left toyed thinking at £25 per night for up to 6 people was it going to be a case of "you get what you pay for?" Well in my opinion I am overjoyed that we booked. It is fantastic value for money. Yes it is basic camping, but the owners dont lead you to believe anything more. You are staying on a farm! Yes there is mud and animals. But there is also the joy of having the sheep come and sit right next to your tent. There is always something to do on this site. My sons aged 14, 8, 7 and 5 played football in the play area with two large goal posts. They enjoyed the range of animals around the site while setting up the tent. Now for the petting zoo. Which is included in your pitch price. Animal feed was cheaper than any local farms in my area. So I wasn't telling the children to limit the bag of food. The children and myself loved seeing feeding and holding the animals. People have mentioned this is a dog friendly site amd that dogs aren't allowed in the petting zoo. Which is true however we attended with out dog, amd simply left her in the tent anchored down and asked our lovely neighbours to just listen out for her. It's safe to say it caused us no problems. Lastly the staff where all fantastic, and wish people would remember this isn't a hotel. The owners are running multiple businesses, getting alot of sleepless nights with the lambing season and being attentive to guests. Yet always done so with a smile. They are busy yes, but they made sure every child felt inclusive with the animal despite how busy it was. They had time to answer questions while also keeping an eye on the animals on the maternity ward. The weather wasn't great when we stayed but it didn't stop us having a great time. There is cover around tbe petty zoo, and Ollies food hut also has a covered eating area. So when it rained we had place to get shelter and also be entertained or get a hot drink. We will 100 percent be back. The toilet facilities are basic but having flushing toilets, running water and a shower. Alongside plenty of outside taps for cleaning shoes, tap water hand washing stations that other campsite don't.
Disliked: Peoples reviews, that simply don't do justice to this place.

Liked: Nice sized field for camping in, plenty of space from neighbours Clear directions and easy self check in Eggs, drinks, snacks etc available from the cafe on site Animals to see
Disliked: Toilets were an odd set up, very minimal light (even during the day) Slightly disappointing that it's advertised as dog friendly and lots of activities for kids, but you can't do any of the activities with a dog which was a shame.

From the manager: Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. We are sorry that once again the toilet block is a reason for complaint but there really is nothing that we can do if visitors leave lights on and drain the battery. It’s a solar system and will run out if used incorrectly, despite the multiple signs. We could install electric (500m from supply) and a new toilet block at huge expense but have taken the assumption that guests would not be happy about the price of this being reflected in their pitch fee. We will therefore urge people to fully read the listing before booking to stay with us, to avoid disappointment and come prepared for a simple flushing toilet, hot gas shower and drinking water tap. To confirm, dogs are welcome on our campsites but yes there are restrictions in the animal petting area and picnic area. The rest of the farm is available for dogs to visit and the path that leads out our back gate leads to miles of off-road footpaths. However, we do request that owners keep their dogs on leads at all times on the farm. At this time of year dog worrying can lead to abortion of unborn lambs and huge amounts of stress to new mums. Kind Regards The Daisy May’s Team
