  • Quirky seaside lodgings in Peacehaven, with private beach
  • A 15-minute drive to Brighton; Beachy Head 30 minutes
  • Pet-friendly site with hot tub, barbecues and wifi
John Wayne Lodge sits by the sea in Peacehaven, East Sussex, with its own private stretch of beach two-minutes' walk away. It’s in a fab location, close to the bright lights, antique shops and late-night clubs of Brighton, yet only 15 minutes’ drive from cycling and walking trails in the South Downs National Park. And if you’d like to explore the Downs by bike, there’s cycle hire on site. However you spend your day, whether it’s pottering on the beach, visiting Brighton Pavilion or peering at the white cliffs at Beachy Head, there’s always something going on when you get back to base. Complimentary hot tub sessions and regular barbecues should perk up your mini-break, and guests can chat around the firepit on summer Saturdays. Oh, and there’s an on-site bar too… Coffee or tea come as part of the deal, and you can also stock up on burgers, pizzas or fish and chips from takeaways on South Coast Road, a few minutes’ walk from the lodge. Newhaven ferry port is 10 minutes away by car, making the lodge a handy overnight base if you’re travelling to Europe and beyond. Bikers, you are very welcome, and there’s secure on-site storage for all your luggage.
