Powered concrete slab caravan site

Liked: Well kept, clean and tidy. This was a small, quiet and relaxed caravan site in an ideal location, just a short walk from the lovely local pub down the road.

Disliked: Whilst the toilet block was clean and well maintained, the shower didn't drain away well meaning that the floor in the toilet cubicles was constantly wet which was not ideal.

Liked: The pitch sizes and the very clean toilet block. All the necessary information was provided prior to our arrival and the gated entrance worked well.

Disliked: Quite a lot of road noise from the busy highway which was just over the hedge. It was quite difficult to fill the onboard water tank on our motorhome, but we managed ok.

Liked: Really liked that it was a small site, showers and toilets were immaculately clean and the lady I spoke to asking for directions was lovely and pleasant. Area was tidy and would gladly go back

Disliked: The other people staying in the shepherds huts. Nothing against the park at all however they stayed up playing music until gone 11, loud, children kicking footballs against caravans, their dog was running loose the entire time and antagonising other people’s dogs, it would try biting our ankles if we used the loos. They really let things down even when we asked them really nicely. I’m all for kids having fun but they were just completely overrunning the park Traffic is super loud but we got over it 😅

Local attractions

For kid-pleasing times, make Greenlands Farm Village your first port of call (100 yards from site). Miniature golf, a playground, archery and cuddly farm animals are all on the cards here (there's also a garden centre, restaurant and well-stocked farm shop for grownup guests). For a family-friendly day at the beach, head to Morecambe Bay (20 minutes' drive), where adventurous types can sort watersports and fishing adventures. Green-fingered guests heading up to the Lakes should call in at Levens Hall (15 minutes), a historic house near Kendal with top-notch topiary. Kendal (20 minutes) is an artsy town on the edge of the national park, a leisurely drive from spots like Lake Windermere (15 minutes from Kendal or 25 minutes from site) and Cartmel Fell (25 minutes or 30 minutes). Most trips down to the Dales, meanwhile, will pass through Kirkby Lonsdale, a market town on the river Lune (20 minutes). Stop off here to admire the scenery at Ruskin's View or for a stroll over the Devil's Bridge, or carry on for outdoorsy attractions like Hardraw Force and Malham Cove (both about an hour from site).
