Manor House Farm Park: Edge for site

General

  • Well-maintained farm campsite with spacious pitches and great views
  • In the quiet hamlet of Paythorne, 20 minutes' drive from Skipton
  • Views over Pendle Hill and direct access to the waymarked Ribble Way

Life is good in this part of the Lancashire countryside – you're right on the edge of the Forest of Bowland with spectacular views over Pendle Hill, while a short distance away on the Ribble Way you can admire far-off Malham Cove and the towering Three Peaks. Manor House Farm Park also has easy access to some of the most scenic parts of Yorkshire, including the Yorkshire Dales National Park (roughly 10 minutes) and the popular market town of Skipton (20 minutes).

This back to basics site is in the quiet hamlet of Paythorne, a laidback spot off the A682 with a friendly local pub. Manor House Farm Park has only very basic amenities – while fresh mains water is available, it's worth noting that this spot operates without on-site toilets and showers. There's a very free and easy atmosphere here, and guests are welcome to bring dogs along, let kids run free or set up a barbecue – provided, of course, that all of this takes place at a respectful distance from other guests, as many come here to simply soak up the peace and quiet…

As you'll have gathered from this spot's location between the Forest of Bowland and the Dales, the surrounding area isn't short of local interest. Popular nearby options include taking a tour of Gisburne Park (five minutes), browsing the bakeries and cafés in Barnoldswick and Settle (15 minutes) or taking sunlit strolls along the nearby Ribble Way.

Please note

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

Tents are not accepted at this park.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

At least one of the party members must be aged 21 or over.

Bookings must not be for more than 28 consecutive nights.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the campground are unlit.

This campground has no on-site toilet and shower facilities.

Friendly greeting on arrival and told us about local walks and places to see. Fabulous views of Pendle Hill, as it is a farm we expected sheep, horses and cows, but also in the field at the side some beautiful Donkeys! Some really nice little villages and near to Clitheroe, Settle and Skipton. Very relaxing visit!

Thanks for a great review. Surprised though that you didn't find me to ask about the animals, like you said you would if you needed anything. We have lots of sheep and cows on the farm and during your stay there were several rams in the field in front of you. The ewes are kept separately and moved around fresh pastures to allow the grass to freshen up in others. In November the cows are in the cattle sheds as the land is too wet for them.

Thanks for a great review, and thanks for the lovely autumn photo with the rainbow. Nature and its changing colours, the hills, the trees, the sky whether cloudy and angry, bright and sunny, or moonlit, dark, and star filled, the farm animals, and farm work going on in the fields around us are always changing with the seasons, and all of that and more is what helps to make it such a beautiful and interesting view. We sometimes see double rainbows too. Look forward to seeing you all next summer.

Kathleen and other members of the family were very helpful and friendly. The site was extremely quiet - at one point all we could hear was the sound of the sheep munching the grass. Lovely views in all directions. The pitches are well spaced. Gravel for the caravan and car. Grass everywhere else.
It’s all we could ever ask for in a site.

Just got back from a 3 night stay and it was perfect. Nice small site friendly owners lovely view, we were told not to rush off at half 11 on departure which was a fantastic and ment we could really enjoy our last night. There is walks in all directions right on the doorstep and a pub that is dog friendly so had a lovely Sunday lunch too. We had such a nice time we were contemplating asking for a price to leave our caravan there over the winter if allowed so we can keep returning most weekends. We will definitely be returning

    Thanks

A very relaxing 3 night stay here. We had the site to ourselves, which was great. Absolutely ideal for us, as we like small, peaceful sites and to use our own facilities.
Great views from the van. A beautiful area and ideal for visiting Lancashire, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes. We did Ingleborough Caves nature trail, Stocks reservoir and Coniston water. All very quiet and Coniston water more beautiful than we remembered.
Thanks Kathleen and Derek for your friendly welcome. Can’t wait to return.
