How’s this for a handy Lancashire location for your tourer? Brylea Caravan Park is a rural site surrounded by trees and fields and yet it’s also only about 10 minutes’ drive from here to Preston city centre. Oh, and the coast is close by too – buzzy Blackpool is about 20 minutes’ drive away. On top of all this, there’s splendidly easy access to this site from the main road – it’s just off the Preston Western Distributor road and a few minutes’ drive from the M55. Once you’re settled, a five-minute walk gets you to the Lancaster Canal towpath for a walk with your four-legged buddy, and there’s also easy access to the Preston Guild Wheel Cycleway. There are plenty of shops, pubs and places to eat in Preston, but you’ll not have to travel that far for a coffee, a snack or a pint of milk. You can simply walk to the local petrol station, five minutes away, which has a well-stocked shop, a chain bakery and a coffee shop with a drive-through (plus electric car charging points). It’s not all about location, though – this family-run park is also a well-equipped place, with spacious hardstanding pitches, a dog-walking area and a smart bathroom block with an accessible/family room and washing-up sinks. A chemical disposal point and motorhome service point are on site too, and the whole place is kept safe with a gated entrance for your security.

  • A cable measuring at least 19 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

  • Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Occupancy

  • Group bookings of 3 or more units (e.g. tent, caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • The campground/park caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Reception

  • Reception is unmanned after 4 p.m.. Please inform the campground while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.

Dogs

  • The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

  • Electricity is metered on site at £0.35 per kWh and must be paid at check-out.

Spotless and peaceful site with roomy pitches and helpful staff. Showers are fab! Metered electric's a bonus, and it's a great base for exploring. Dog walkers love the canal access. A bit of road noise, but mostly brilliant.

Liked We’ve been going here for years, and it just gets better and better. Great facilities, friendly service, easy electric system, great dog walk, good big pitches, and secure.

Disliked Kids playing football near the caravans when there’s signs saying not to. There’s plenty of room for them to play on the marked out pitch by the dog walk.

Liked We had a fantastic stay at Brylea Caravan Park. The site is beautifully maintained, with spotless facilities and really spacious pitches. It was lovely and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax after a busy few days. We also found it to be a great base for exploring Blackpool and the surrounding area.

The owners were very helpful when I called to let them know we were running late, and everything was well organised from arrival to departure. We also had no issues using the electricity top up kiosk and found the whole process straightforward. The WiFi signal was also really good.

We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would definitely recommend Brylea Caravan Park to anyone looking for a clean, quiet, and well-kept campsite.

Spend a day at the seaside and visit Blackpool (20 minutes’ drive), where the wide sandy beach is just one of many attractions. Check out the town’s three piers, pose with the waxworks at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, or head to Blackpool Pleasure Beach – spoiler alert: not a beach, but an amusement park with massive roller coasters. Animal enthusiasts can choose from several destinations. Brockholes Nature Reserve (20 minutes) is a former quarry now given over to wildflowers and woodland. The Owl & Bird of Prey Sanctuary (also 20 minutes) runs flight displays of its eagles, hawks and owls, plus experiences like Falconer for a Day. Bowland Wild Boar Park (40 minutes) is also home to alpacas, meerkats and ferrets. Lake District National Park (45 minutes) enchants with its spectacular watery and mountainous landscapes, and its National Trust sites, like Sizergh (a medieval house with a vast estate) and Hill Top, Beatrix Potter’s home overlooking Lake Windermere.
