  • Family-run back to basics farm site in the Lancashire countryside
  • A 35-minute drive from the Lake District; 45 minutes from Blackpool
  • Picnic area on site; pubs, restaurants, and farm shop nearby
Looking to tuck into some time away in the gorgeous Lancashire countryside? Blossom Tree Camping has quite the spot for a rural stay, 35 minutes’ drive away from the Lake District and 45 minutes from Blackpool. This family-run farm is a quiet and spacious patch with some cows and many a place to kick back and relax. Well-behaved dogs are welcome here too, but they must be tethered at all times because the cows aren’t big fans. There’s a picnic area on site when you feel like planting yourself down for some tasty eats. In terms of other facilities, there’s a toilet block with ladies and gents’ toilets and a separate shower block and dishwashing area. Where to source the goods for your picnic, though? Well, no need to worry, as there are lots of food shops, including a farm shop, within five minutes’ drive of the site. Pubs are a common sight too – there are several within five minutes’ drive of the site and many more eateries (restaurants, bars and the like included) in Lancaster, 10 minutes’ drive away. The site also sells pizza cooked in a wood-fired stove. For anything else you may need and finding local attractions, there are friendly faces on site that will be happy to point you in the right direction, whether it’s scenic trails, beaches or crags. Please note that electric cooking equipment and devices such as kettles, hairdryers and straighteners may not work at this site.

What customers say

A lovely, family-run park with top-notch facilities, loved for its cleanliness and friendly hosts. The wood-fired pizzas are a real treat! Great spot for exploring, kids love the animals, and it's a safe place for them. A couple of small notes on pitch size and hook-up power.

Liked Lovely owners warm friendly welcome, clean amenities, pizzas on a Friday where lovely, pitches where nice size and the sites been graded which is brilliant shows they care. Solar power 3amp which was enough for us no tripped electrics on our stay and we had a electric cool box light and phone charges and a projector all running without incident. Shops 10.minutes drive away so plenty of availability nearby. Although, on site pizzas on a Friday freshly baked in a pizza oven, ice-creams lollies, fresh eggs etc sold on site too.
5 nights away wish we could be have stayed longer. Will be coming back I'm sure.

Disliked Bit muddy drive/walk onto the pitches could do with some extra drainage there but did dry quickly once the sun was out, loud for 2 nights music and noise well past 9:30 till 2:30am but that's not down to the owners so not really a dislike just am annoyance.

Liked Love this campsite, the owners are so friendly, site is lovely & well organised, new toilets & showers are great always clean & tidy, we did struggle slightly as grandson aged 7 had to come in the ladies & there’s nowhere really to get dry except the toilet which we found easier, so once you’ve found a way that works for you they are great, lovely site we will be booking again & again 😍 fresh eggs too & we took some home

Liked Surrounded by nature, very peaceful. Our little boy loved the aeroplane and we liked that he could go down the hill on his own and we could still see him from the tent.
Clean, well maintained facilities.
Pizza was delicious too after 2 hours travel and pitching a tent.

Liked Fabulous campsite. Owners were very welcoming. Reason I booked this campsite was because when reading reviews it said the shower and toilets were clean. They were not wrong! Spotless on every visit to the facilities. The electric hookup was a bonus, it only does light things like a phone charge so just be aware, but I knew that from the description. There’s a little aeroplane to play on that my youngest loved, and a little tree swing, which was also enjoyed. It’s 10 mins from Lancaster. Uber eats delivered there for me no problem on the first night and delivery guy said he’d been before. I used the what three words address just in case! I believe they offer pizza on a weekend onsite (we stayed mid week) and there’s a little onsite shop too. They accept card payments onsite (website said bank transfer or PayPal). Well def be back it’s a fab site! Thanks so much!

Liked Amazing customer service. Staff all very helpful and respectful. Facilities were clean. Pizzas available to buy helpful on day 1 when you get there abit later so don’t fancy cooking. Can rent a fire pit with wood.

Disliked Pitches are quite close to each other but clear markers one where to pitch and the boundary. Can be quite loud at night but staff do intervene without the need to be told.

Liked We had a great few days here! The hosts were absolutely lovely and so super friendly! The toilets and showers are basic , but kept spectacularly clean and well equipped with toilet roll , and hand soap etc. the food on site is amazing and great prices. Loved the fact you could hire fire pits etc.

Disliked Not so much a dislike , however there is very little for children to do compared to other sites. However plenty of space for them to run around.

Local attractions

Once you’re all settled in, it’ll be time to plot out your plan of action. Those of you who have hiking at the top of your list will, of course, want to circle the Lake District National Park (35 minutes’ drive) on your map. The Trough of Bowland (25 minutes) has plenty more scenic walking and cycling routes – this time through a remote river valley. Underline Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (35 minutes) while you’re at it – the views are very worth the small trek. Like a little of the city life too? Lancaster (10 minutes) is a good place to get in some sightseeing. The castle and the Ashton Memorial in Williamson’s Park might make it onto your tour, as should a stop in a delicious eatery (or two). Blackpool (45 minutes) is a smaller town, but there’s plenty of entertainment packed in, including a theme park, wake park, beaches and amusement piers. While you’re on the topic of bays, the Morecambe Bay (25 minutes) estuary is a haven for all things outdoor sports: sailing, kitesurfing and even parachuting. If you like to scale cliffs, head to Thorn Crag (half an hour) too.
