What customers say
A tidy, peaceful spot with super welcoming owners, especially Sid! Each pitch has its own loo, and the showers are great. Perfect Lake District base. Minor points about limited washing-up facilities are outweighed by the overall quality and number of pitches. Highly recommended, lots plan to revisit.

Liked What a fab little site. Just a few statics and just a handful of tourer pitches. Each tourer gets their own toilet and there is one large shared shower room, which doesn't sound a lot but the person:shower ratio is still well advantageous to most larger sites. There's some great dog friendly walks straight off the site. The lakes wildlife park is more or less opposite. It's also on a bus route (give or take a couple of hundred metres) if you wanted to venture into Bassenthwaite.
We came to climb Catbells but unfortunately Storm Floris made the weather a little unpredictable so we visited the Wildlife park, did a couple of local walks and visited the Castle Inn (10 mins walk away) instead. The Castle Inn does a Swim and Sunday Lunch deal too which is worth looking at. The owner was extremely attentive and was able to advise on anything asked.
We would love to return!
