What customers say
A chilled spot with boss views, a top-notch owner (Jonnty!) who knows the area well. Tidy facilities, spacious flat sites, free fire pits. Great value, handy to a pub. Highly recommended for exploring.

Lovely campsite with everything you could need
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Jonty was an amazing host! So helpful and friendly. The grass was well looked after and cut short which was ideal for camping, there are toilets and showers on site as well as a kitchen to wash pots etc. There is a pub 10 min walk away but you need to book for food as it gets so busy.
Perfect location for walking in the Lakes.
Football and cricket set available and it was nice to see people out playing games.
Disliked The only issue we had was that this campsite says "quiet at 10pm" which was the reason we picked it, however the rule doesn't seem to be enforced. Both nights we stayed there was two different groups of young adults being really loud until after midnight, which after walking 14 miles is the last thing we needed. Even with earplugs in I could hear their shouting. Maybe we were just very unlucky!

Liked This campsite was perfect for our needs. No one was too far from the toilets/showers. I was not too sure at first with the curtains instead of doors but felt well private enough and the sign at the entrance "vacant/in use" is perfect. It was busy but everyone was very respectful so we could enjoy our peaceful family stay. Great to be able to buy the wood on site.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Simple and quiet, surrounded by nature, as we like it. We had all the facilities we needed, toilets, washing up place, some showers in case of emergency, a wifi spot to check weather forecast. The host was really friendly and helpful, with tips for where to eat, but things or even go for trips if you didn’t manage to plan anything. Lots of walks just straight from the campsite or short drive away.
Disliked Nothing disliked, but would appreciate if the skip was replaced with proper bins and recycling. For one, to stop seagulls spreading rubbish around, and two, we normally recycle, so it hurt to chuck all in one skip

Liked Had an amazing 3 night stay at The Barn Campsite. The owner Jonnty was so helpful and knowledgeable of the area- recommended some lovely dog walks! The campsite was the best I have stayed at- beautiful location, lovely friendly atmosphere and great basic facilities!
The showers, toilets and washing up area were always kept well clean! Even had a charging point area for phones/powerbanks and space to dry towels!
Fire pits and wifi were free (big bag of wood and firelighters at a small price)
Pick your own pitch and plenty of space (even when busy), great for dogs lots of nice walks within walking and driving distance, and only 15 mins from the beach too! Surrounded by fields with sheep and cows and it was so peaceful will definitely book again!
