A little gem of a campsite for those who want the countryside!
Powered grass site
Liked Dramatic view looking at the Lake District backdrop, friendly farm animals, good washing up, toilet and showering facilities, clearly marked disposal point. Not far from Carlisle Tesco where diesel is 27p a litre cheaper than the motorway services.
Disliked I was reluctant to leave at 10:00 and would have been more comfortable leaving at 11:00.

Peaceful
Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site
Liked We stayed here for two nights from the 26th July 25.
The site is easy to find and navigate through the farm to the campsite, we were free to pick our pitch (hardstanding) and were not bothered by anyone about checking in or departing. Its a very easy going atmosphere, with beautiful scenery and a few lovey local walks.
The facilities are basic, clean and well replenished, although we didn't use the showers as we have our own in our campervan. This site is based on a working farm which is lovely to see and makes a change from busy urban life. If you are looking for an all singing all dancing commercial site ( which I think a few of the negative feedback customers were hoping for) this is not for you, this is a site that allows you to feel like you're actually camping on a actual working farm. Great place to chill and take some lovely pics of the farm animals.
Disliked Nothing to dislike

Liked Set tent up overlooking fields, great views. Very quiet which we enjoy. Kept spotless. Great communication including a group chat to get any help or ask questions.
Disliked Could do with shelf in toilet block for toiletery bag

From the manager: That is a great idea, I will get that added. So pleased you enjoyed your stay 😃

The Paddock unpowered grass tent site
Liked Location - peaceful, fabulous open views over rolling countryside and the lake district in the distance.
Neighbours: Lovely cows and their cute little ones.
Facilities: as described, and all clean and well equipped with basic necessities.
Pitching: flat
Disliked Noise of mower at 9 am.
Stench of chemical waste being pumped out at 9.15 am = affecting all campers passing by to use the kitchen bins/ sink/ loos ... Really thoughtless to start the maintenance jobs before 10 am: campers are asked to vacate the site at 10 am, so ought to be allowed to enjoy the peace and tranquility ( and pure air!) they have paid for until then.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: I am really sorry about that, unfortunately being a small family run site we have to squeeze things in when we can. We do always try to be mindful of our campers. Thanks for your review.
Would go again, even at my young age>72<

Liked Location in field with farm animals on all four sides what’s to dislike. Shower block is ok clean and tidy.
Disliked Grass was a bit long
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: So sorry about the grass, all the rain we have had has made getting cut quite difficult.
