  • Pop-up family campsite on a working farm in quiet Cheshire countryside
  • Near the Cheshire and Shropshire border; Malpas five minutes' drive
  • Play area and picnic tables; meet the friendly on-site animals
Cheshire sites don’t come much more family-friendly than Magical Malpas PYO Farm, a back-to-basics spot on a friendly, family-run working dairy and pick-your-own farm. This simple pop-up site has a small number of pitches on neatly mown fields, and is a five-minute drive from pubs and convenience stores in the historic market town of Malpas. Simple on-site facilities include four toilets (one with a baby changing station) and wash basins with cold running water. Picnic tables and a children's play area add spaces for you to unwind. Just take note that there are no shower facilities, wifi, electric hook-ups or drinking water; you will need to bring your own drinking water. One extra perk at this site is the animals that are on duty. You're welcome to meet Wilma and Betty, two Valais Blacknose sheep, and the goats Lily, Houdini, Luna and Kenny (the naughty one), as well as the site's two resident donkeys, Trevor and Lola. They're generally well-behaved, so interactions are welcome. If you can get your kids away from the animals, they will be chomping at the bit to get to BeWILDerwood Cheshire (10 minutes’ drive) and Chester Zoo (40 minutes).

Liked Lovely family, quickly answered any questions we had, friendly and chatty and made us feel really welcome :)
Great Little campsite, great for kids to run around, friendly goats wandering about. Lovely clean toilets, village about a 5 minute drive (could potentially walk but was a long country road so we chose to drive as we were with the kids) with Aldi, coop, a pub with beer garden. Canals just across from the pub up a footpath, we had a walk along and there was a cafe for an ice cream! Weather was amazing when we stayed and had the whole place to ourselves on Sunday night which was great! 😊

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review, it is very much appreciated. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. 🐐 ❤️

Liked Brilliant site, so chilled and family orientated. The kids loved the play park as well as the barn with all the role play sections. Brilliant value for a family weekend.
The toilets were spotless and the site was dog friendly too. The owners are really lovely, so friendly and welcoming.
Will definitely be returning

Disliked Nothing, you know when you book there isn’t any shower or drinking water.

From the manager: Thank you so much for this great review. It was so lovely to meet you. We’re hoping you’ll come back soon. ❤️❤️❤️

Liked LOVE this place, our first time camping here with a very feral 4 year old I was so worried when I need how packed it was… we found a quite space away near the pond (I didn’t want to annoy anyone shouting 😭) the farm animals are lovely, there’s TWO play areas for kids, love the washing up station made bbq so much easier!!

Disliked My only nit pick is showers, but we generally only stay a night or two anyone so not much of an issue, but couldn’t book for longer due to no shower. And signal wasn’t the best/no Wi-Fi to hook up too. Not an issue at all until night time when kids are in bed😂

Lovely peaceful site, idea for my young son. He loved the play…

Liked Very friendly owners who made sure we were ok and happy on arrival. It was the first time I had taken my son camping and this campsite was perfect for it. The friendly sheep and goats were a bonus treat for him along side the small play area. It was relatively quiet while we were there which suited us as we were looking for a relaxing couple of nights.
The pitches are mowed to clearly designate areas, pitches were nice and flat.
The toilets were well looked after and the washing up area had everything we would need.
Malpas is only a 5 min drive away which was great for picking up little bits and pieces from the Co-op. After our successful first father-son camp we can't wait to book here again. Thank you Stella and family!

Liked Stella and family could not have been more friendly and helpful. Their farm was beautiful, well kept and we all enjoyed petting the roaming goats and sheep. My granddaughter loved feeding the rabbits and guinea pigs. Definitely would recommend to anyone and we will definitely be back again.
