Field unpowered grass tent site

Liked: What a gem! Amazing quiet site, so much space. Being a bank holiday I was scared everywhere would be hammered. But this was perfect. It’s a huge field and everyone is so spread out. We made the owner aware my dog wasn’t great with other dogs and we had the whole top end of the field. It was clean, flat and quiet. In understand why previous reviews state they will be back. Safe to say i will be one of them.

Disliked: Nothing!

Disliked: We actually turned up to no owner or instructions. Our dog was attacked by there own pugs. We soon left and found another site 10 mins down the road and had a great stay

From the manager: These people said they were going to arrive at 1600 hours and arrived at 11 am I was not here to greet them . My pugs do not attack other dogs ,they are very gentle and are kept in an enclosed area and do not run free .

Absolutely delightful campsite, quiet and beautiful ! We really enjoyed our stay…

Field unpowered grass tent site

Liked: This is our second stay this year. We loved it again! Once again the grounds were beautifully kept, lovely and quiet site. A pretty garden to walk around with a huge pond. Malpas a short drive away where we have found a chip shop which is ideal for our first nights tea after setting up. The owner was once again lovely and welcoming, helpful and pleasant. And bonus, a new outside washing up area has now been added. A raised stone sink which looks great and fits in great with the feel of the site.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike. We will definitely be back again 🥰

Local attractions

Wild swims to wake you up in the morning? No problem. Alderford Lake (15 minutes’ drive) is a swimming lake where you don’t just have to breaststroke… it also has an aqua park and watersports rental. Alternatively, get the fresh air whizzing past your ears from Wrenbury (15 minute), where there’s canal boat rental. Fully awake now, you might feel like a little trip back in time, so to say. The 19th-century gardens at Cholmondeley Castle Gardens (five minutes) now have sweet creatures like llamas and pygmy goats, while Bolesworth Castle (10 minutes) and Beeston Castle (15 minutes) various have exhibitions and events. You might feel like a lord or lady after leaving Erddig (half an hour), a National Trust country house and estate with family collections. The same goes for Chirk Castle (40 minutes), a medieval fortress. Of course, Chester (25 minutes) is chock-full of Roman sites. Chester Zoo (35 minutes), outside of the city, has heaps of animals – it’s a family-friendly day out indeed.
