Liked Great sized pitches, most with electric.
Superb location for Delemere Forest and Tarporley. Plenty of nearby pubs with food.
Clean facilities.
Pizza’s cooked fresh on Fridays.

Disliked It’s a big site - not necessarily a problem, but too busy and noisy for us.
11pm curfew feels pretty late - but saying this as someone with young children who needs routine. Curfew was very well respected.
Only a handful of showers, which given the size of the site was a surprise. We timed it well though (late afternoon) and didn’t need to wait.

Liked All. Very clean and well presented. Staff welcomed us as we arrived and we throughout polite and friendly.
We liked the dog walk and the play park on site. My boys loved the crepes freshly made on site on the sat morning.

Liked Excellent location for Oulton Park, Delamere forest, Hollies farm shop, Shrewsbury arms and The Fish Pool pub. Uber and local taxis available. Nice welcome on arrival, great Pizzas on the Friday night highly recommended. Shower and toilet blocks all close and small convenience shop available for ice cream and any essentials.

Liked Lovely well maintained site. The owners were friendly and helpful. Large pitches. Nice loop walk from the site to Little Bodsworth ask at the onsite shop for a map. Great pub just down the road the Shrewsbury Arms they serve food.

Liked Very nicely kept site. Staff lovely and very chatty. Showers very powerful and were clean despite the park being very busy.

Disliked With only 3 toilets and 3 showers in the male bathroom you could have to wait at busy times. Maybe look to expand them a little. The 4G was almost impossible to use on phones. But you can pay for wifi!!……I think this should be free or incorporated into the rate.

Local attractions

The park is perfectly placed for days out and activities for all ages and tastes, whether you want city days out, tramps through woodland or historic houses. Oulton Park racing circuit is a mile away and has a programme of events throughout the year, while Little Budworth Country Park is walkable from the site. The nearby village of Tarporley has designer shopping, tearooms and swish restaurants. Bolesworth Castle and its many events including CarFest North and international horse shows is 10 miles from Elm Cottage Touring Park, and old and rather fab Chester is 12 miles west with decent park and ride facilities. Famed Chester Zoo is also within easy reach. Stargazers should shoot along to the Jodrell Bank Observatory and Discovery Centre 15 miles away at Macclesfield, an educational establishment with visitor centre, arboretum and the mammoth Lovell Telescope. Other excellent day trips are around in all directions, like active days out in Snowdonia National Park or around the Welsh coast, hiking the Peak District or city shopping and sightseeing in Liverpool and Manchester.
