The Bunker, a small-scale campsite based in the green fields of a South Yorkshire equestrian centre, has a sought-after mix indeed: a quiet, rural location away from busy roads, it's also just a five-minute drive from the A1(M) motorway. Located just under a mile from the small village of Sprotbrough and roughly three miles from the centre of Doncaster, The Bunker is within easy walking distance of a butcher's shop, a wine bar, a coffee shop and a kids' play area. Sprotborough also gives access to the traffic-free path that runs along the river Don. Other places to explore locally like Cusworth Hall (five minutes' drive) and Conisbrough Castle (10 minutes) are within easy reach too. The Bunker is a simple site, with portable toilets available for guests. Barbecues are allowed here, and sometimes local produce is sold, so catering won't be an issue. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. The Bunker (appropriately enough, given the name) is a safe and secure site: the fields are gated and secured at night, and CCTV is in operation.
