For a peaceful escape on a South Yorkshire farm, the cosy static caravan at Winter Hill Grange takes some beating. As well as spectacular views over valleys and forest to stately Cannon Hall and Cannon Hall Farm (as seen on TV), it’s surrounded by fields and your only neighbours will be Aberdeen Angus cows, grazing sheep (with lambs in spring) and lots of peacocks, turkeys, ducks and hens. Cosy living accommodation includes double and twin bedrooms with ensuites and storage, comfy seating for lazy days, and a compact dining area next to the kitchen corner. Outside there’s a small pond area (safely fenced off so it’s no problem if you’re travelling with toddlers) that’s home to the farm’s contingent of ducks, plus a maze of footpaths leading straight into woodland. Access to this snug little retreat is through a wide gateway, with a lane leading directly to the parking area. As the caravan is close to the main yard on a working family farm, dogs are not allowed on site.

Caravans are a hit: clean, comfy, well-kitted with great views. Hosts are super friendly, often going the extra mile with fresh eggs. Peaceful vibe, brilliant for exploring. Wi-Fi can be patchy, but they're sorting it. A few found the decor a bit old, and one had a brief hot water hiccup.

Liked The location is perfect for us as a family. We go to the Metrodome in Barnsley and then head to cannon hall the day after. This year as the kids are a little older 3 5 and 7 we walked to the local pub through the woods and it was lovely to be able to do this with them. A proper little adventure.

Liked Beautiful views & in a scenic area
The static had everything you may need, it was clean & well equipped.
Suitable for people with limited mobility, due to accessible ramp/ handrail outside - instead of steps
Host were very accommodating & helpful with good communication.

Liked Loved the view from the caravan and area outside, the warm welcome from Rachel and Ruby. The kids loved the look around we were offered. There wasnt anything we needed on our stay that wasnt provided, cleaning materials, toilet roll, bedding .
Beds were comfortable . Nice public footpaths around. Near to cannon hall and Yorkshire sculpture park whivh we visited and were excellent

Disliked Nothing to dislike, just be aware its a working farm so dont expect to wander anywhere as it can be dangerous .

Liked Perfect. Peaceful and so relaxing my daughter didn't want to come home we looked at the typical caravan sites that wanted ridiculous prices because it was 6 weeks holidays and seen this and thought wow that's good price. we had amazing days out

Liked Well, what a lovely place, well equipped everything you need ,very quiet, nice walks around the area,15 minutes walk to the pub,the eggs were lovely, lovely views overlooking cannon hall farm, so much to do in the area,

Liked Everything about the place is truly amazing. So peaceful and tranquil. Stunning views in a beautiful valley. Perfect from start to finish. Stayed with my family. We got to see and help feed the animals. Nothing was too much trouble. And the eggs were amazing!
