Round up the family or gather a little group for a relaxed time at Ancroft Town Farm Campsite. In a peaceful part of the Northumberland countryside, this site is attached to a working farm (a quarter of a mile up the road) with a small stream and shelter from trees to the east and south. But despite the rural set up, it’s 15 minutes’ drive away from many hot spots including beaches, a steam railway and Paxton House. How about a tasty spot to eat? There’s a farm shop five minutes’ drive away or a pub with a children’s play area, a splendid view and good food 35 minutes’ walk away that you may also reach by car in under five minutes’ drive or with a 10-minute cycle ride. Or, there’s Berwick-upon-Tweed 10 minutes’ drive away for the scenic Northumberland coastline, the old town’s barracks, historical walls and riverside below the Royal Tweed Bridge – oh, and many seaside spots to eat out from restaurants to cafés and bars, as well as shops and supermarkets. The low-lying site has easy access from a minor road and surrounded by open fields. Access to the site is directly off a country road, so it’s suitable for most cars. There’s a car parking area a short walk away from the pitches, which are in a spacious field with lots of space to unwind – and for kids to play around. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome but must be kept under the owners’ supervision at all times.
