Childrens Play Area with camping field and upper touring caravan area in the background.
Camping field at crows nest with sea views.
Heated indoor pool with waterslides
Family bar with guitar-shaped bar and music memorabilia

  • Dog-friendly park five miles from Scarborough and 2.5 from Filey
  • Award-winning amenities block, family bathroom and launderette
  • Indoor heated pool, lounge bar, family bar, play area and supermarket
Feel free as a bird at award-winning Crows Nest Caravan Park between Scarborough and Filey – this well-maintained place is roomy, green and has sea views overlooking gorgeous Gristhorpe Bay and Scarborough Castle. Crows Nest is five miles from Scarborough and two and a half miles from Filey, but if you’re taking a break from the seaside/ exploring the North Yorkshire coast there’s loads to do on site too: a lounge bar with entertainment in peak season to suit all ages and tastes, a family bar with pool tables, a games room, a play area for little fledglings and a heated indoor pool with poolside assistants during high season. The award-winning amenities block a short walk from the tent field has free hot showers, wash basins, hairdryers and socket/shaver points, and there are also family bathrooms and a disabled-access shower room. Elsewhere on site there’s a washing-up area, launderette, chemical disposal point and well-stocked supermarket. And, as you can’t come to the coast and not have fish and chips, there’s also a chippy takeaway open in high season (but they do have more fish and chips in Scarborough too). Bringing the family friend? Crows Nest Caravan Park is dog-friendly and dogs are allowed in the conservatory area of the lounge bar; there's also a dog park on site.

Lower area fully-serviced gravel caravan site (super)

Liked Stunning view at top of campsite. Good hard standing pitches. Bus stop at end of road. Site grounds well kept.

Disliked Limited opening days for bar, entertainment, food outlets. (Only open Fri to Sunday) mid September. Ladies showers smelt quite bad (drains). Tiles fallen from walls, drain covers badly fitted. Light sensor in mens shower did not stay on long enough to have shower (pitch black)

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the views, pitches and location. As September is a quieter time, our bar, food outlets and entertainment do run on reduced hours, but we’ll take your comments on board. We’ll also pass your feedback on the shower facilities to our maintenance team to review. We hope to welcome you back again.

Liked Great conservatory and club. Unfortunately they shut it for the season after our first night. Great shop with everything you could need. Spacious pitches. Clean site. Facilities were great. Would recommend.

Disliked Nothing to dislike

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted you enjoyed the facilities, shop and spacious pitches. As you mention, the bar opening times are more limited when the season quietens down - it does not close entirely. We hope to welcome you back again.

Had a lovely weekend stay and would definitely recommend and return.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely feedback. We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay and the food from our chip shop. We’ll certainly consider your comments about opening more often, during the quieter times it is not feasible to open as if the park was at full occupancy unfortunately. Upper area fully-serviced gravel caravan site (super)

Liked The size of the site was great even just for a social walk-around. Toilets and showers were spotless so hats off to the cleaning crews. Loved the coastal walk from the site into Filey. Well located site for getting to places. Will be coming back.

Disliked Shower times need to stay on a little longer when the button is pushed It cuts out to quick and have to push it to often having a lovely shower becoming a pain. Couldn't connect to the WIFI either ( I think due to the size of the site)

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. We’re delighted you enjoyed the site, the coastal walk and our facilities, and we’ll share your comments on the showers. The wifi is available around the main facilities, it is not park wide. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Upper area fully-serviced gravel caravan site (super)

Liked plenty of showers etc and all clean- fully stocked shop - Fish & chips good price and nice - great park for the kids - beautiful sea views from the top field - great local pub & garage ten min walk

Disliked People arriving at 8.00 & 8.40 with Caravans to pitch up (we had a baby & toddler so I checked the time before booking-this is between12-6.00-so that woke them up for the rest if the night) lots of dog dirt all over the grassed areas next to our pitch. Taxis bringing people back at 12.20am (no gates on the site)

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We’re pleased you enjoyed the facilities, shop, fish and chips, play park and the lovely views. Guests can pre-arrange later arrivals, which is often the case on a Friday after school or work. People are also welcome to enjoy their stay, and may return by taxi if visiting local towns or events. We’re sorry this caused some disturbance, but it’s not fair to place the blame on another family’s holiday. We do monitor the park, provide bins and check regularly, though sadly not all dog owners clean up after their pets. We appreciate your feedback.

Local attractions

Leave the car behind: buses running between Scarborough and Bridlington pick up from the end of the Crows Nest Caravan Park drive and discount day tickets are available to keep more money for seaside rock. The kids will probably clamour first for Scarborough: there are the North Bay and South Bay beaches to bounce around as well as the traditional seaside fairground and donkey rides. But Scarborough’s also a hotspot for culture vultures, with the Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Scarborough Art Gallery and Rotunda Museum alongside regular festivals and events throughout the year. Fab Filey is even closer: this Edwardian town has a five-mile stretch of sand and is backed by the peninsula and cliffs of Filey Brigg – this is the place to birdwatch and wildlife spot, with rockpools along the beach and many species of birds and beasts to see all year round. The 110-mile Cleveland Way starts here for hiking your way around Yorkshire’s history and heritage: Scarborough Castle, Whitby Abbey and Dracula tales, Mount Grace Priory and Rievaulx Abbey are all along the route. Away from the seaside and vampires, puff between Whitby and Pickering on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, veer between villages in the North York Moors National Park or get citified around York and Hull, all within easy driving distance of Crows Nest.
