Camping pod (no pets)

Liked: Very clean pods, which looked as clean as when we stayed the year before. Our toilet block/showers were also spotless, which is a major pus on any campsite. Excellent on site cafe, providing tasty snacks, including a good selection of breakfast food. Only a 10 minute taxi ride into the town. Great base for what we wanted, which was the musical festival at the Spa.

Camping pod (no pets)

Liked: Pods were clean and warm. There was a kettle with tea coffee and mugs provided. The communal area for pods and yurts was lovely and felt very secure for the children.

Disliked: We were sharing the toilet and shower room with at least 4 other pods and yurts. There was only one toilet which was within the shower cubicle so when other families were using the shower/toilet we had to wait to use the toilet. Could do with a park for children

Camping pod (no pets)

Liked: Stayed in a pod, clean and basic, beds and chairs and took my own bedding. Great base for a few nights close to everything needed. Bathroom was clean and functional and nice that was exclusive use for pods. Kids loved the Peacocks roaming around.

Disliked: No wifi.

Nomadic yurt (no pets)

Liked: Absolutely lovely long weekend stay in a Yurt at Park Rose. Yurt was spacious and very well set up with a lovely log burner stove. Fabulous bbq and socialising area in the centre of the circle of Yurts and huts which we utilised on 2 of the 3 nights. Quiet and peaceful apart from the animals at 5.30am!! Which was to be expected. Would definitely stay again 😊

Disliked: Would have been lovely to have a small play area rather than the small plat houses and could have done with a small shop that sold milk, bread etc. But poundsretcher was great for everything else

Camping pod (no pets)

Liked: The pods were fabulous exactly what we needed for our short stay. The kids were able to run around, make friends with the resident peacocks. And us grownups could chill around our fire pit during the evening with a beer or two knowing the kids were safe and happy. It was the perfect base and would absolutely recommend to others and will certainly be back.

Local attractions

Go coastwards to Bridlington and its Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve with over 200,000 chattering seabirds or have a more serene time sampling the town’s famous shellfish; get gothic in Whitby or amuse yourself at the funfair in Filey, where there’s another bird garden and animal park if the one at Park Rose has given the kids the beasties bug. For beachcombers, the main beach at Bridlington also has a land train, the Bridlington Eye and waxworks at the Beside The Seaside Experience Museum; the quieter Fraisthorpe Beach, to the south of Bridlington, is dog-friendly all year round. Head inland from here for the North York Moors, one of the biggest stretches of heather moorland in the country: explore by bike, on foot or from the North York Moors Railway which puffs through 18 miles of spectacular scenery. For kid-friendly fare, Bridlington and the surrounding areas are well-placed for family days out, with beaches, play centres and farms among more; take a trip to Dalby Forest for the day for some orienteering or swinging among the trees at Go Ape. Theme parks in the area include the knuckle-clenching rides and extensive zoo at Malton’s Flamingo Land, swashbuckling and raptor attacks at Ripon’s Lightwater Valley, and more birds of prey at Thirsk’s Sion Hill Hall.
