What customers say
Well-maintained, quiet campsite with great country views. Families love the play park. Delicious pub food (takeaway too!). Some toilets need a spruce-up, and pub hours/prices were a bit limiting for some. Good value, many keen to return.

Powered concrete and grass caravan site
Liked Quiet and clean site, everyone we met very friendly, food very nice, great park for the kids, just got left alone and left to it by the owner, shower and toilet area clean.
Disliked The owner charging me for a baby bowl on the carvery after i spent money on drinks there friday night, drinks and food saturday night and then carvery sunday morning and we asked for a spare plate for my 3 year old and was told no and that we had to pay £3 for a “baby bowl” which wasnt listed on the menu on the bar, bit of a piss take really. Its not the money its just the principle, only thing that bugged me really!

Liked Pitch sizes were huge. Views were superb. Play area was great for our 9 year old boy. Showers were clean and really powerful for an electric shower. Close to a Bishop Auckland with shops and restaurants, we had a fab visit to Auckland Palace. Close to Beamish. Close to Shildon Railway Museum.
Disliked Prices of drinks in the pub were quite high.

Liked absolutely loved our stay, great area, great view, friendly people, showers and toilets are clean, definitely be back
Disliked Pub being next door is great but should be more flexible for campers, also pints were very flat, think lines could need cleaning more often, the food was lovely but opened on friday and we went for meal that evening and they didn’t have everything on menu which seemed a bit odd for first day of week opening and one of first tables in!
