Easton Farm Park: Spacious pitches on a sunny day

General

  • Family-friendly site next door to a well-established Suffolk farm park
  • A 15-minute drive from Woodbridge; half an hour from the Suffolk coast
  • Family-friendly country pub a 10-minute stroll away

With friendly animals to ruffle and eggs to collect it’s no wonder that numerous nippers (and a good handful of grownups, to be fair) have expressed a desire to take up residence when visiting a farm park.

And here at Suffolk’s Easton Farm Park they can do (almost) exactly that. While the animals take a bit of an overnight rest from the constant adoration, guests can pitch up in the fields right next door, ready to get back in for more farmyard action the following day. (And as a special treat, those staying here can sashay in and out of the park as much as they like once they’ve paid a single entry fee…)

The folk here have been welcoming guests to their gorgeous little rural spot for 40 years or so, learning a thing or two about what makes a good stay along the way – as a result, the bathroom facilities here are particularly fine, with bonus points for such things as underfloor heating and plenty of mirrors in the ladies’ section.

Finishing up a farm day with a barbecue or campfire is a fine idea, if that’s what you fancy (both are allowed on site); there’s also a family-friendly country pub a 10-minute stroll away in the village of Easton, for evenings when you’d rather have someone else sort the eats for you while you partake of a local ale or few.

Please note

A cable measuring at least 10 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The campground/park caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

If making a fire, the fuel, logs and coal have to be purchased on site.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the campground/park are unlit.

Reception is unmanned after 5:30 p.m.. Please inform the campground while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Group bookings of 4 or more units (e.g. tent, caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

There is a one-off admission cost (valid for the entire stay) of £10 for anyone over the age of 2 for the farm park. This includes daily rides and activities such as: meet the animals, barrel bug rides, and pond dipping. Within the farm park there is an outdoor adventure play and bouncy pillow which visitors can use whilst in the farm park, access to which is only possible during farm opening hours.

Lovely site, great facilities and quiet09/30/2022

The facilities were clean and more extensive than we expected. There is a family room with a bath and toilet which my 2-year-old who hates showers was very happy with. There was also a small play area on the camp field with was a welcome surprise. It was so lovely to go to the farm every day and get to know the animals and humans looking after them. The staff was all friendly and knowledgable.

    Disliked:

There was not much hot water for the washing-up sinks but this could be due to it being the end of high season. But the showers were all warm. The weekend staff in the reception were less friendly but this could be due to them being busy.

    Nice big pitches
    Friendly and helpful staff
Farm was lovely and £10 tickets for stay really good value
Breakfast in cafe was really nice
    Camp shop well stocked

    Disliked:

At times the toilet and shower facilities were really dirty and out of soap paper etc, when we first arrived the site wasn't full and the facilities were perfect however by the weekend when it was full they were awful.
Pizza night was also unfortunately not very good, only 3 pizza choices and no sides available, then pizzas came out and were very disappointing (should add staff did say they are in process of building a new pizza oven so hopefully should improve) and soft play closed at night

Nice and close to the farm. The farm is absolutely lovely, plenty to do for the kids, we really enjoyed being so close. Great for visiting throughout stay.

    Disliked:

Expensive for the actual site, not sure why it was so much money, £8 extra for my dog .. not sure why 🤷🏻‍♀️. Hot water temperamental for washing up, push on taps in shower and washing up - not ideal. Poor WiFi.

Friendly and clean family site let down by inadequate facilities08/28/2022

Spacious open site. Proximity to the farm park with a variety of farm animals, rides and large play area during opening hours was great plus the ability to visit everyday of your stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. The site is easily accessible from main travel routes yet in a pretty, quiet, rural area and is within easy distance to several beaches and places of interest.

    Disliked:

With self checking there was no control over access to the campsite and therefore no security control.
Pitches were numbered but the area was not well marked so some tents and caravans were pitched far too close to each other- eg fire hazard. Hot water for washing up and the washroom facilities was almost non existent, unacceptable in hygiene terms especially for tent campers. Washing up needs it’s own water supply. The facilities were well kept but woefully inadequate for the size of the campsite.

Lovely little site with friendly staff and a nice toilet block.08/27/2022

Nice little site. Well maintained. The site manager was friendly and helpful whenever I saw him. The toilet block was always clean and tidy with plenty of toilet roll!

There is a little shop on site that opens in the evenings. It’s a little pricey but sells all the last minute essentials you might have forgotten or need. They also sell firewood and charcoal and hire out fire pits if you don’t have your own.

£10 per head was good value to be able to visit the farm as often as you liked. We went for two full days over a weeks holiday but with younger children you could even go more. Pony rides etc are all included in the entry fee.

Mobile signal is poor at the site, it is in the middle of nowhere after all, but they have free Wi-Fi round the toilet blocks for those occasions when you need to check something out on the internet.

    Disliked:

The washing up facilities were decent with 3 large sinks but there was never any hot water.

There weren’t all that many water points in the main site. We were lucky to be close to one but you could end up with a bit of a trek to get water.

Lovely place for the kids and adults, so much for the children to do and you say for your entry and it's free entry every day for the rest of your stay. On site toilets showers and a family room with bath too. Kids learn and have so much to do. Would recommend this to everyone. We're booking up again for sure. Our electric pitch was great. Even had a small play area for kids which they loved into the evenings. Only thing I would say is play area could be made bigger as little small.

    Disliked:

Lack of wifi it said free wifi but we never got the guest code to access it.

This was our second time visiting having been last year. The facilities are good and near to pitch locations. We stayed in the electric pitches in the field on the right as you enter camp which I feel have the best of everything and are a bit quiter.

The farm as always was great and the children loved it wanting to always go back.

    Disliked:

There is a play area for the children however I feel it needs to be bigger as this hasn't changed and a few things added as the children get bored very easily. I feel they are missing a trick not having a big play area for all the children to play on for long periods of time which I know they would if there was more to do. There is certain he space for it.

There was also instances where there were about 20 children all climbing over it which is a little dangerous.

I also feel they should provide some things to clean up the showers and sinks such as mops and cloths as they do sometimes get left dirty and be good to give clean before and after use.

Local attractions

Attractions don’t really come much closer than having a farm park right next door… and Easton Farm Park’s a well-established one with a café, a giant jumping pillow, an indoor soft play area and a green trail that’s great for spotting some of the nature around the 30-acre site. Plus, of course, there’s a friendly bunch of horses, sheep, pigs, cows, goats and chickens to make pals with.

If there’s one thing that might tempt the tiddlers away from the farm’s charms, it’s surely a trip to the beach – it’ll take about half an hour to drive over to the Suffolk coast for fish and chips on the beach in Aldeburgh, or to paddle boats on the lake at Thorpeness Meare.

Suffolk’s so heavily tied up with farming history that it’s even got its own breed of horse, which you can admire over at the Suffolk Punch Trust in Woodbridge (15 minutes’ drive). While you’re over there, have a stroll around the smart pile at Sutton Hoo and play with the interactive exhibits at the Tide Mill museum.
