What customers say

A sweet, peaceful, tidy site with roomy, flat spots. Toilets & showers get good marks for clean, hot water. The cool railway theme, friendly owner and local attractions like the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway and Middy Bar are a big plus. Mostly great stays, though some want more facilities when it's busy and better signs.

Railway Wagon camping pod (four person)

Liked Lovely site, nice accommodation, kids loved the bunk beds, very accessible for looking around Suffolk.

Disliked Gold out bed in accommodation was very uncomfortable as the mattress needs replacing and a slat was broken 🙁

Unpowered grass site

Liked Free choice of where you pitch. New additions to the site. Great area for dog agility, close walk to MSLR and not far from a shop.

Disliked A little difficult to pitch anywhere on a bank holiday weekend as the whole centre section of the camping area was a football field for kids and limited the parking around the edges. Need more soap in all the washing facilities, shower heads need attention as leaking, extra bins for busier times as over flowing

Powered grass site

Liked Quiet site with clean facilities, well marked pitches and easy access to local towns and villages. Chose a short walk across to The Cedars farm shop which was well worth a visit - lovely lunch and lots of delicious local produce.

Liked Clean toilet block, nice and near.

Disliked My pitch which was booked and paid for, but when I arrived there wasn't a pitch for me so had to squeeze in and share a pitch. Will be asking for a refund! No staff on site so anyone can just turn up.

Local attractions

After taking the kids to learn about old-fashioned travel at the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum (five minutes' walk), take them off for animal encounters, agricultural insights and pony rides at Easton Farm Park (30 minutes' drive), or venture in the other direction towards Framlingham Castle (30 minutes) for family-friendly adventures on a medieval theme. If you liked that, then Henry II's unusual polygonal tower at Orford Castle (50 minutes) should be right up your street too. While here, make time to take in Orford village's pretty traditional cottages and welcoming pubs, or follow the sound of the waves and explore the wild wetlands of Orford Ness National Nature Reserve (50 minutes). More coastal capers await at spectacular spots such as Aldeburgh (55 minutes), Thorpeness (an hour) and Southwold (an hour), all of which are located within the gorgeous Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Birdlife abounds in this biodiversity haven – your hosts particularly recommend grabbing a pair of binoculars and heading to the well-camouflaged hides at RSPB Minsmere (an hour) and Walberswick (an hour).
