What customers say
A peaceful rural spot with friendly owners and good facilities, great for dog walks & river views. Plane spotting a bonus. Some found cleanliness & toilet/shower numbers lacking in peak times. Closer to Newmarket than Bury St Edmunds.

A pleasant place to stay.
Powered grass and earth site
Liked This is a pleasant and well managed site. The facilities are clean and tidy.
Disliked There is noise at night from RAF Mildenhall. There are only 2 toilets and these sited in rooms with showers. This resulted in a queue when the showers were in use. There is no wifi.

Might stay again, but only if theres no other kids there during stay

Liked Fairly private location & small site. Clean facilities.
Disliked Shop never seemed to be open. Other guests ruined our stay due to noise & having dogs off leads & wondering through our pitch.

From the manager: Unfortunately the week you stayed I was away with mobile shop so the site shop was closed. sorry the other guests made your stay less enjoyable.
Lovely, fairly private site, shame other guests couldn't follow rules

Liked Small & Private site. Out the way. Helpful owner in the lead up to our holiday & greeted us on the day. Would be a lovely site if other guests actually followed the rules & if there was a site attendant to speak to about any issues. This was our last camping trip involving a tent & our first week away since our honeymoon 10 years ago. Got to see some really cool planes fly over!
Disliked Ground was very hard so was difficult to peg a tent or put up wind breakers.
Only two toilets which made it very crowded during busy times.
Site rules state to keep dogs on leads but apparently, everyone with a dog that attended the site at the same time we did was letting their dogs off the lead & allowed them to come antagonise my dogs that were kept on a leash at all times. Due to this, when my dogs had enough of these other dogs invading their space, I ended up with two broken tables due to my dogs moving quickly to tell the other dogs off. Shame the rules only seem to apply to us. The owner was not on site except for the first day when they greeted us & so there was no one to speak to about the issues. Other guests could not keep their kids under control & it was difficult leaving site due to the toys all over the site & parents allowing kids to wedge beer cans in the kids bikes riding around at all hours all day/evening making a massive racket.

From the manager: I am sorry your holiday was spoilt by other guests not adhering to the rules and being noisy.
Great site.

Liked Beautiful small campsite. The tent pitches were large which was great for our big tent. The owner was really friendly and checked the facilities daily as well as checking everything was ok everytime we saw her. The toilets and showers were clean. The washing up area was perfect for a small site. Its a very dog friendly site which was great for us and our little dog.
The pitches were also flat and had a water tap at each pitch. The site itself was very clean and you can tell its well looked after. Everyone seemed very friendly.

Liked It's a lovely quite site. Was greated by the owner & she was very helpful and friendly. Loved the sheds with toilets & showers & both have washing machine & tumble dryers in. There was some lovely walks we had with our dogs and down to the river behind the site with narrow boats. Was a relaxing few days. Will definitely be back.

Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back.

Liked It is a small field, grass but with electricity. The amenities are very good and clean. The area is lovely, nice for walks. There's a lovely river behind the site with some narrow boats. Was a relaxed and enjoyable weekend. Near two aircraft sites so got to see some cool planes passing over.
Disliked You can hear the speedway in the distance (not the owners fault), and on the Saturday night you could hear a combine harvester all night (again not the owners fault).

Not clean
Powered grass and earth site
Liked Country location. Flat pitches. Pub (Judes Ferry) up the road (8 mins walk) had bad reviews online but we went and were pleasantly surprised. Food was nice and friendly atmosphere.
Disliked Ingrained dirt & rubbish overflowing the bins. Weird note about having to get rid of own rubbish due to previous tennants misuse, we got the punishment for it on arrival. Then the next note says cleanliness is next to godliness yet that was in the toilet/ shower room which was filthy. The water tap on our pitch was on the back of a post under a low tree meaning when it rained you got wet getting water plus had to hug the post to even get to the tap, not ideal for anyone with mobility problems. The electric was on the same post pointing outwards. This needed to be the other way around as electric you'll input and pull out once each time but water you collect daily. Noise from the road behind the hedge by cars and walkers, for a country small road it was noisy and in regular use. Unless we missed a sign to a footpath the local shop was drive only as too far to walk. This is only the 2nd ever site I've added dislike comments on pitchup. We've been on basic sites before but the minimum you expect is cleanliness. We left after 2 nights, had paid for 5 nights.

From the manager: I am sorry you did not find New Park farm to a clean enough standard, I was working away last week so could not be there to oversee things. As you will see from other reviews this is not the usual case . However I do apologise.
The campsite is situated on a single track road with allotments opposite and minimal houses further down the lane .
I have since added another bottle bin to cope with the glass from the weekend guests.

Liked Nice level pitches with easy access for touring caravan. Toilet and showers clean. Took the car down to the river which wasn’t an issue. Pub only 10 mins paddle away. Would use this site again

OK at best, but nothing special.

Liked Quiet location - although not particularly well signposted and satnav address takes you to the place next door.
Disliked Only 2 unisex toilets and 2 unisex showers for the whole place, both basically built into garden sheds and with plenty of cobwebs around.
No water at the actual camping field. You have to go get it at the shower and toilet sheds where there is a single standpipe. Not too bad for us as it was quiet when we visited, but if it was busy, it would be a bit of a nightmare.

From the manager: I’m sorry you seem to have missed all the drinking water taps at each set of trees , so that would make 4 taps on the right and another 4 on the left as well as at the outside washing up area . TBH most people use a waterline and have constant water which is possible here with all 9 taps to 8 pitches .
Lovely little site. Clean toilet and shower facilities.

Liked Small and friendly rural site. Ideal for plane spotters as RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall nearby. Nice walk to the local pub by the river.
