Between the market town of Beccles and the seaside resort of Lowestoft is Orchard View. This comfy static caravan is tucked away in the field of a smallholding accessed via a private track – in turn off a quiet country lane – close to the Norfolk and Suffolk border. Inside the van is a shower room, double bedroom, a small single bed suitable for a child and a sofa bed that makes an additional double in the comfy seating area. With hot and cold water, kettle, toaster and fridge in the kitchen, you’re all set to cook up simple meals. Outside you can fire up the covered gas barbecue and there’s a sole-use portable toilet nearby. Brought the bikes for cycling flat Norfolk lanes? You’ll be grateful for the secure bike shed. While you’re out and about on site, you’ll see grazing horses, sheep and pigs, as well as (possibly) deer and hares. You can also stroll down to North Cove Nature Reserve (five minutes’ walk) straight from the site, or follow the footpath to the River Waveney.
