What customers say
Acorn Meadow is a peaceful, well-kept campsite, loved for its lovely rural spot & ace host, Fred. Guests rave about clean facilities, level pitches & great value. Handy for a village pub. Most reviews are glowing, though one mentioned an overgrown Pingo Trail. Many keen to return.

Powered grass tent site
Liked Acorn Meadow is a lovely campsite, located in the village of Thompson. Fred, the owner is very friendly and helpful and gave us a map of the area to help us plan walks including the Pingo Trail. Across the road from the campsite is a large community park area including a brilliant playground for children. The village pub is meant to be excellent but we didn't go. Would definitely recommend.
Disliked The only facility missing for us was hot water at the washing up area but the cost of the site is very low, Fred likes to keep it affordable but is considering installing hot water for next year.

Owlery camping pod
Liked Peaceful. Location is amazing, very private and rural (loving the pheasants). The pod was extremely comfortable and clean and secure. Couldn’t wish for more, it had all the equipment needed for a comfortable stay! Will most definitely be back. Fred was available in minutes if you needed him.

I will use this campsite again.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Flat ground, good comms from Fred who is amenable to help out if he can. Quiet during day. Close to cycle routes. Good for bikers too. Some pitches had benches ( we did) and this was really useful.
Disliked Nearby cockerels were noisy at 3am. Obviously nothing to do with the campsite but I feel that I should mention it.
