  • Luxury dog-friendly shepherd’s hut with a private garden
  • A 10-minute drive to Witley Court & Gardens; 25 minutes to Wyre Forest
  • Patio with a hot tub and barbecue; farm shop and country pubs nearby
Relaxing certainly isn’t rocket science at Rowley Farm Holidays in Worcestershire… whether it’s evenings with hot tub dips and a glass of red on the private patio or dog walks in Wyre Forest 25 minutes’ drive away, this luxury, adults-only shepherd’s hut is all about quality time. And that goes for pup too if you like, as the private garden (with pear trees overhead) is fully enclosed to keep them safe and sound. You may very well spend much of your time in the outdoor space, as the private patio has a woodfired hot tub (for a decadent sunset plunge perhaps?) and a barbecue. To get the goods for the grill there’s a farm shop just a mile away (25 minutes’ walk). And when you’d rather eat out somewhere nice, there are country pubs around and about, including in Holt Fleet, 35 minutes’ walk away. What about your new pad? Well, there’s a country cottage-style kitchen with a gas cooker, hob and fridge, and a clean, modern wet room with underfloor heating. The velvet sofa’s pretty cosy too (it’s in front of a woodburning stove), the kitchen and wardrobes are all handmade and the bed’s by an oak concertina window, just the thing for listening to the countryside soundtrack or admiring the view. When you fancy getting to grips with the local area, there are plenty of National Trust properties around. Or for those of you who are here for a special occasion, the site can arrange specific tailor-made events to take place on the farm.

Local attractions

Parklands and historic properties are all about for a potter around here… Worcestershire has quite a number of National Trust properties, including Witley Court and Gardens (10 minutes’ drive). High society once frequented this place for parties, but now some of the main draws are its grand ruins and woodland walks. There’s Brockhampton (25 minutes) and Hanbury Hall (25 minutes) too, the first an ancient estate with a medieval manor house and the second a country house with parks and an orchard (you could pick your own apples here, if it’s the right time of the year). Wyre Forest (25 minutes) is one place to take your activities to new heights, in the literal sense, as Go Ape Wyre Forest (25 minutes) has obstacles courses way up in the treetops. Back on the ground, there are mountain biking trails and horse riding tracks. Down to the south, walking trails take the front seat, whether in the old valley, woodland and orchard at The Knapp And Papermill Nature Reserve (25 minutes) or the steeper ascents in the Malvern Hills (35 minutes).
